    Is the starter turning the engine too slowly to start, or do you need to crank the engine for a long time / few times before it starts?

    Check all the bolts on the exhaust manifold. loose bolts are the notorious cause of a whistling gasket.

    In short. Firstly you need to check the fridge detail. What amps will be drawn by the compressor. That will determine the size of the inverter. Remember to add 1/3 extra capacity onto the inverter....

    Remove the + wire from the coil. Tape up and hide. Pull the small wire from the solenoid on the starter. If the carburettor has a cutout solenoid valve. Remove that wire as well.
