Die 200 series is n lekker kar, maar om hom aan te hou vir n trip of 3 per maak ook nie sin nie. En om met n toegeruste kar elke dag in die dorp te ry is ook nie lekker nie?!:) Ek het n nou...

    Re: Snorkel or not?

I fitted a snorkel on my farm bakkie (LC 1HZ), obviously servicing it myself, and saw the amount of dust blown out form the air filter each time. The dust was considerately less after the snorkel. ...

    Re: Snorkel or not?

Yes most bakkies are serviced at 10k km, but air filter is not replaced that regular, but inspected every 10k km.

Yes an Isuzu do easily 160 kpu on gravel :)

    Re: Snorkel or not?

Probably one reason why Toy requires a 5000km oil change on the 1Hz machine.:)

And requires regular inspection of the air filter and replacement if 'extremely dirty '.

    Re: Snorkel or not?

Yes a snorkel is a pre- cleaner also, maybe not as effective as a cyclone pre-cleaner, however I have never seen grid in the air cleaner box after the snorkel.

    Re: Snorkel or not?

    My experience also.

At slower speeds dust that is generated by the wheels blow any direction, and thats where the snorkel does better.

    Re: Snorkel or not?

Yes, but I have seen some air cleaner boxes full of sand from dune driving or driving sand tracks. The air filter collects definitely more dust with a normal intake, driving gravel roads, but does...

All tractors and earth moving equipment got snorkels. And none of them got the intake in the wheel arch.>:D:)

That said if you drive only once in while on gravel dont bother about a snorkel,...

    Re: Correct pressure

Even more possible answers here. Theoretical the tire pressure must equal the wheel load over the tyre contact area, what ever that is>:D.

But it should be in the range of 2 to 2.2 bar

Vir grondpaaie, nie sleg keuse, as die agentskap redelik is, beter rygerief. Goeie engine, dalk beter as die Toy GD. Net die skokbrekers vervang met OME. Die control arms hou nie vir ewig nie.

Re: Namibia trip planning, Dec 2019, the south west

The management of NWR is useless. Maybe its time that such reports reach the local newspaper. They spend millions on upgrading the facilities and run it into the ground with in a few years.
