    Re: Paint code

I have a white Defender, it's Chawton white code 603.

To confirm if it is the same you must go to a reputable paint shop, they should have samples of all vehicle makes, and see if the colour...

    Try to follow the manual.
  3. Re: What high-cycle battery do you have in your Defender?

Unless imported, most come from the same factory but rather choose one of the better known brands.

I have a few old one's. If come across one lying around I put it in my stash.

That's bad luck, but at least you found the problem.

In manuals there are drawings of the adaptors used when removing the gearboxes.

One for the transfer box and one for the main box....

I can't give you much. You just have to get in there with a small torch and try to see as much as you can.
    It's uncomfortable and tight.
Try to see what the manual says about the push rod.

    Defender Re: R380 Clutch Question

Ja, I think there is a problem with the push rod as it didn't give the necessary "back pressure" for the seal in the slave cylinder.

I've no problem with hi-lift jacks, I have one permanently in my Landy but when changing a tyre a bottle jack is so much easier.

    Defender Re: Defender PUMA jack

Get a Toyota mechanical bottle jack and and thickish piece of wood.

Don't gi hydraulic as it can fail due to vibration.
Only get a hi-lift if you intend to do serious stuff.

    Defender Re: R380 Clutch Question

Both the master and slave cylinders have seals that can fail, but most probably your fault will be either the slave or fork.

Good luck, hopefully it's an easy fix.

No way of knowing. You will only find out after installing and bleeding the clutch hydraulic system.
The clutch fork failure is s 300Tdi thing, I wasn't aware that the Td5 has the same issue.
