Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

Very good review Jouko, thanks! Town driving is always the consumption killer with bigger petrol engines. With my 5.7 v8 I really need to baby it to get below 20l/100km. However open road in 8th...
  2. Re: MUX questions (wheel sizes, imported parts availability, and AI)

If you don't know how to calculate the diameter off hand, use this site for some handy info

    https://tiresize.com/comparison/
  3. Re: MUX questions (wheel sizes, imported parts availability, and AI)

    Indeed.
    265/50/20 = 30.4" diameter
    265/60/18 = 30.5 " diameter
    255/65/17 = 30.05" diameter

The first two are equivalent for all intents and purposes. The last wheel size is "one size smaller"
  4. Re: MUX questions (wheel sizes, imported parts availability, and AI)

Going from 265/50/20 to 265/60/18 would result in the exact same circumference. Thus speedo and all other things will remain the same at the benefit of higher sidewalls.

Re: 2013 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited price

Try Weelee....their offers are normally quite a bit higher than a single dealer's offer, especially WeBuyCar's

Received this just now. Message stated 90kg but whatever. Not sure why it wasn't released:mad: unless it died from exhaustion.

Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

Interesting that your speedo is spot on with stock tires. Mine over read with 5km/h. Only when I increased by tire size the speedo was spot on, as mentioned in a previous post

Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

31.5 instead of stock 30.5 fills the arches a teeny bit more which looks better tbh. Also makes the speedo accurate

Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

If the discs are ventilated it means you have bigger HD brakes, so 17inch won't fit. 18inch is the smallest you can go which is fine. Much better than 20s.
Stock size is 265/50/20 which equates...

Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

    Congrats! Post a pic!

Good idea to change the wheels to 18". Looks better and drives "softer". You can even go down to 17" assuming you have the 3.6 which has standard brake calipers. You can pick...

Re: Toyota Prado or Jeep Grand Cherokee

In the same breath one can argue in favour of the Jeep due to the Prado's boringness track record.
With that being said, the OP (who went MIA it seems) stated that reliability isn't a major concern...

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2013/2014 - opinions

Can't comment on the 3.6 in the GC but the engine itself is pretty bulletproof. I will however advise you to look at 2014+ models as they come with an 8-speed auto box instead of the previous 5-speed...

Wrangler 2dr Re: Whats my Jeep worth ?

Best would be to put it on a platform such as Weelee. A bunch of dealers will bid on the Jeep which will give you an indicative price of what the "market" is valuing your Jeep at.
    But looking at...

Re: Catch of the day- please post

Re: JK rims & 3.6 Rubicon tyre size

Theoretically yes - the 17 should be more cushioned but whether it will be that noticeable, I don't now. If you go that route, you'll be able to pick up second hand Wrangler rims in good condition...

Re: JK rims & 3.6 Rubicon tyre size

Hmm I think the days have gone where 17's are much more available that 18's, but I might be wrong.
But to your question, and if I understand you correctly, a 33" is a 33" no matter what size rim you...

Re: Should I take the plunge or wait it out

You're going be hard pressed to find a Wrangler (especially Rubicon) in good nick for R300k, especially from a dealer. Their second-hand prices have gone up and they also hold their prices well.

You are the second person today mentioning the Daiwa BG. They seem reasonably priced. I will go have a look at the 6500 or 8000. Perhaps it can double as a surf reel later on
