    Re: My New Treggie

Congrats! Hope you have many more trouble free miles! I also enjoyed mine and it was very capable off road. Bit off topic, but those 7ft Venters seem to be quite rare, my dad has one and the extra...

Damn! I was just about to say it is very close to me, so maybe I should just go buy it during my lunch break ;D

    Re: LC200 - a million Rand mistake?

I would be more impressed if anyone buys it at that price 😂

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

Congrats! I hope you enjoy that ML very much!

Regarding the roof rack I can't offer much insights, but would recommend you check out the car's manual for the roof load rating, it may be less than...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

I find that that is the best approach with modern cars, get someone who is an expert and has the tools for a specific brand. It does to a certain extent influence my buying decisions as I know if a...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

I was going to say HP fuel pump perhaps? I hope this resolves the issue. It is a bit concerning that your mechanic seems to be taking the rout of replacing parts rather than diagnosing, is he a Merc...

Re: Grand Cherokee 2015 petrol - Summit Version

As far as I recall that flashlight charges while stored in the car, so that helps at least.
  10. Re: New here and will take all the advice I can get!

Should be able to find some OEM 16" from olx or one of the others, plenty of owners tossing them in favour of 20"s. (Makes little sense, maar nou ja)
If these 20"s aren't poked you may even be able...
  11. Re: New here and will take all the advice I can get!

Some Everest's come standard with 20" wheels, is this aftermarket wheels?

Between those two it is probably much of a muchness in my opinion...

  13. Re: Real word ownership experience - LC 200: V8 4.6l petrol vs V8 D4D

Wel, dan is dit die antwoord, al wat ek kan se is dat daai 3rd kar nie n platkar hoef te wees nie, dit kan n softroader wees, ek was nooit n fan van n softroader nie tot ek een gekoop het. Maar as 3...

  15. Re: Digital Tyre Inflator - Petrol Stations/Garages

My honest opinion is the garage inflators aren't accurate (well not properly accurate), but it is better than not checking tires at all. Best is to do it at home and check with your own gauge, but...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

Q5 is a really great car (I am biased however), like Kix said the 2.0 TFSi motors tend to burn oil, especially the pre 2012 models. This can be R80k to fix (perhaps more if the PO is very oblivious)....

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

The guys that actually own D4's (assuming this one is a diesel?) don't seem all that worried about it, it seems to me it is the guys that don't own a diesel D4 that are more worried about it (that...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

Sounds like you like the ML, and since you change cars regularly I think just go for it!

I am not a Merc guy per se, but I have very seriously considered a GL, which also looks like a fantastic...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

May I ask what it is that draws you to the ML specifically? The D4 is everything that the ML is and more, except for the facts that the ML is more car like and probably a bit more nippy. I understand...
  22. Re: What is the right tyre for Rims 7jX16X33.0ah2

Like Spiceman said, they will fit, perhaps tell us why you don't like them? I also see you intend on going quite a bit smaller in overall diameter, why is that?

Re: 4x4 Auto or Manual transmission?

My platkar is a manual, but only because I enjoy hooning it every now and again (ok more now than again ;D ).

For off-road work auto is much better in my opinion, also for towing. I say this from...

Re: Buying an ML 350 CDI advice

The 1st gen ML's were very bad as far as I remember, I had a colleague that was nearly bankrupted by one, I went for a drive in one and was thoroughly unimpressed by it. That being said the newer...

Yup, exactly that, I wasn't aware that any modern cars use such a system as it is quite old fashioned. That spring must be quite something to be able to compare to modern coils springs. From the...

  35. Re: Real word ownership experience - LC 200: V8 4.6l petrol vs V8 D4D

Unfortunately I can't add meaningful 1st hand advice, I am however quite surprised at how limited the interior space is on the 105. From the last time I sat in one I seem to remember the seats being...
