Re: Jeep Cherokee to Discovery 4 V8

Rather look at a Grand Cherokee V8, much better overall reliability than the D4 and surprisingly good consumption. It's much more modern vehicle than the LR. And it's a Jeep! For me, the LR felt more...

    Re: Best Insurance

Yep the yellow ambrella has always helped me out. Their only drawback is that I'm not allowed to participate in competitions. I go through a broker.
  5. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

Which colour is the GC on offer, and which tyres are you considering? I fitted the Kumhos which I got for a massive bargain (R10k for the set), but they are slightly noisy on some surfaces. I'd be...

  7. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

Good to hear schambies! I haven't gotten my GC off-road yes and will not have an opportunity until 2021. I have grown a bit weary of doing that due to the lack of articulation and have even started...

  11. Grand Cherokee Re: Jeep for Sale - WK2 5.7 Hemi Overland - 2011

Aah I see, but the options listed, are they actually installed for my specific Vin? Because I am pretty sure that my Jeep doesn't have head lamp spray jets that are also listed there..

    I guess...
  12. Grand Cherokee Re: Jeep for Sale - WK2 5.7 Hemi Overland - 2011

Thanks Rick! According to the spec sheet downloaded I have the Quadra-Trac II (R) 4WD System. I'll read up on that...

Good luck with your sale Rick!

How does one check if that QD2 is fitted? Is there website where one can check the Jeep configuration via the Vin?

Re: Help Me Inteperate my 2.4 GD6 Dyno Results

At 3000rpm you have increased from 117 to 127kW, an increase of 9%. At the same engine speed that is hence also 9% more torque at 3000rpm. The 2.4 produces 110kW and the 2.8 gives 130KW, which is 18%...

Discovery 3 Re: Disco Fiasco - what would you do?

The dealer is closed down and not approachable, in any case it seems that the case against him was not successful in any case. It is a pity that the dealer wasn't cooperative in persueing the repair...

    Re: Battery/trickle charger

But that's not intelligent! Doesn't it need to draw the battery down a bit and then recharge it, cycling like that?

    Re: Battery/trickle charger

It seems for both the bosch and ctec they have R1k options, but those are rated for small batteries. Are those good enough to maintain a charge on large batteries during say a three month period?

    Re: Battery/trickle charger

Discovery 3 Re: Disco Fiasco - what would you do?

Is this the same Landy as in your other Fred? How much did you pay for it? Maybe your best option is to break it up and sell it for spares.
  24. Re: Sellers trying to duck out of obligations - advice please

Interesting case. As the problem surfaced on your first trip it would be difficult to proof that it wasn't pre-existing.

Then, it becomes a matter of whether the George based dealer is considered...

    Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee 3.6 Overland (WK2)

If you're scared then buy a maintenance insurance plan for R30k. I plan to drive less than 10,000 per year and has zero unscheduled maintenance with my previous Jeeps so didn't go for that option.
