    Patrol Re: TD42 Patrol Pickup

Just keeping the gearing in mind I would stick to a 32'' if you don't do extreme off-roading. A 265/75R16 is also a very common size and a lot of 70 series cruisers and defenders run this size.

    Patrol Re: TD42 Patrol Pickup

235/85r16 would be a good size for a patrol. 32'' tall and shouldn't require a lift.

    Re: Extension to towbar

Looks like a new defender, there's more than enough clearance to hook a trailer so I am hoping its for a bike rack.
  4. Re: Good all terrain tyres for my defender 110?

Firstly 265/70R16 are too small and your speedo will over read. 265/75r16 or 235/85r16 are the sizes you want. 235/85r16 came standard with most defenders. My vote is for Goodyear wrangler at/sa,...

    Re: Defender 130 Overlander build

As an alternative to this you could use plastic coated cable, I haven't had a issue with VHF using this method as yet.

Get a propshaft nut socket, rechargeable impact drill, correct size ratchet spanner and a torque wrench. You''ll be able to pop that sucker on and off in no-time.

I think I mentioned this earlier but selling a defender without a tow bar and and rear e-diff as standard is an insanely stupid oversight from land rover. I would have thought they learnt there...

    Re: Degender 90 300tdi

    Hi

If im correct the 90 runs a 60l tank and should easily avg 9km/l. It's never good to run diesel dry so lets say 55x9=495km on a tank.

Re: Rear Diff Lock Options for 2001 Defender

If your not doing crazy things with the 90 then consider a ATB, still more traction but you have to work for at as all good Landy drivers should. I think a bit of left foot braking to aid in traction...

    Re: Td5 Defender towing.

They don't mind big loads, but with anything over 2t I would try and keep away from 5th unless you've had they R380 bearings upgraded. EGT's also tend to climb far quicker with heavy trailers so keep...

    Golf mk6 1.6i cambelt interval

    Hi Gents

My fathers gardener has a golf mk6 1.6 petrol. He replaced the cambelt about 40 000km ago and says it needs to be done again.

He mentioned that its the BSF engine.

    Re: Is this it?

Only one I know of....but the 18” rim is the one to go far. Prado 150, land cruiser 200, some amaroks, ranger wildtrak, isuzu x-rider all run 18” rims.

Bakkies started off with 15” then 16” then...

    Re: Is this it?

My previous post refers, also 33'' tyres fit without issue. Im not saying a 17" wouldn't have been better but land rover certainly didn't discount sidewall height in the design.
