    Re: Welding machine for R998

The biggest killer for cheap/budget welders is the grinding sparks from preparation and tidying up.
They are really, really hot and if you grind anywhere in proximity of the welder, they go into the...
  2. Series I Re: @-5 temp, engine starts, then dies after a few seconds

Problem is, the diesel gels in the tank and all the pipes from tank to engine, so you would need to heat the tank and the lines to be effective.

Sticky: Re: LR parts offered / required

I'm still in 2 minds if I want to sell it or convert it to diesel. Let me run it past Madame and see what she says.
Plus, I need to drop the box and replace the flex plate, first.

I'd run it past the guy you spoke to, but it should fly as long as you can demonstrate that it is removeable.

They also do "offcuts" from left over stock.
I was after some 2mm GRP sheet and they had black stock left over that they were happy to cut for me.

    Re: DIY fireplace/oven

OK, I am probably being thick, but surely the idea behind a fireplace is to heat the space it's located in?
How does the heat get into the room/house?

Aren't the bearings oil lubed from the diff oil?

Dip your finger in it, if it's diff oil you will smell it immediately.
It could also be brake fluid.

What is the condition of your box? Maybe an overhaul with a new pump will do the trick?

Seeing as you are in Europe, I'd call Ashcroft in the UK and ask them, they will see you right.
