    Re: Dual battery location

Ron's the 14V you measured is the alternator output. The bat wil not be that high. If the engine is off then you can get the bat volts but let the engine be off for 30min before you measure for a...

Re: CTek D to DC charger

Normally one would use about 16mm but because the WRND can only charge at 20A 4mm would be fine. NL solenoid would need 16mm minimum as the charge rate can be very high with a flat aux bat.

You can buy either of these from seller in CT and also collect at their gate in Goodwood.

    Look on bidorbuy. Great seller.

  4. Re: What solar system needed for off grid cottage?

I would just like to warn around the 12/24V upright Defy fridge that is now being sold. The power use is far higher than most 220V fridges of the same size. A recent test by someone who bought the...

Locate the flasher unit - could be under the dash or even next to the fuse box. Chech if it has 2 or 3 connections.

    Re: Charging AA, AAA batteries.

Nicad and NiMh use the same type of charger AFAIK. Li-Ion you need a charger that shuts down charging before the safety switch open the circuit.

I belief you have 2/3rd X A battery as per the...

    Re: Digital Circuit Breakers

My take would be wrong wire size causes overheating and leads to fires. Lack of maintenence caused by loose connection leads to fires.

I also felt the clutch level at over R500 was a bit much. Ended up getting a 2nd hand one that looked like new.

    Re: Solar charging, how to?

In short the PWM switches on and off to provide an average voltage around the level you need to charge the battery. It wastes up to 30% of the energy if the panel has a higher voltage than the...

  12. Leoch 48100 Lithium batteries - Carte Blanche

Interesting program on Carte Blanche (26-05-2019) about these batteries selling at about a third of their normal price and it is indicated that the sole SA agent only sells to the cell networks.

    Re: outdoor-fishing-rod-light

Just a point that confused me at 1st. The 500W is the equvalent power and the power actually used. A real 500W would not be able to run from a 12V 7Ah battery and these lights do for 8 plus hours.

I can just agree with all the positive points about Bushpower. What I like is to know they don't sell junk but good products. Can use them as a filter on different brands.

For repacking before you toss it try the place that repack at great prices close to Wonderboom High School in Voortrekker Rd. They also do shrink wrap of bat packs.
  17. Re: 90w solar charge controller - HCPD Power Pack Mk2

From the info on this unit 90W seems the maximum. If you want to go over 90W it seems you will have to use an external charge controller for panels over 90W. May be you can use a 90W panel on the...
