    Re: OEM Radio replacement

Agreed on the RCD330, works a treat.

Don't buy a Caska, I had endless problems and returned it after a while.

    Re: VW Arteon

I have a 5 series BMW, and compare to it, the Arteon was difficult to get in and out of. It is as if the side sill is a lot lower than my car, and the roof line also plays a role in that.

    Re: VW Arteon

Excellent, that car should only be sold with the 2.0TSI engine.

I see very few of them on the road, and fear it may also get the chop, as has happened to the Passat.

    Still one of the most...

    Re: Buying advice Audi A6 3.0Tdi 2013

Nope, if anything you are moving to a more reliable car.

Just check for normal wear and tear, there really are no big ticket common problems on this.

Something expensive that will wear down is...

Re: This VW/Ford NON-SENSE regarding Amarok

    [QUOTE=grips;4209937]
Is it different to a 3.2 2015 Ranger?

Drove that in auto, and the box was very disappointing.

The Amarok I had and the BMW I currently have, both have 8sp ZF boxes. No...

Re: This VW/Ford NON-SENSE regarding Amarok

Well, I will be watching the partnership closely. I am due for a new car in 2 years time, just at the end of the current Amarok life cycle.

There are 2 concerns for me with the next Amarok.

Re: Buying advise on an Amarok

    Hi Guys,

I am looking at buying an Amarok and would appreciate some information.

Vehicle is a 2015 Auto 4motion Highline with around 70k km on the clock.
    Price is around R390k.

Re: This VW/Ford NON-SENSE regarding Amarok

    Never heard of that.

For starters, the Amarok is the only double cab with 8 braces / beams on a ladder chassis. Can't remember the exact number, but other d/cabs only use about 5.

    Also, the...

Re: This VW/Ford NON-SENSE regarding Amarok

I am still surprised that Merc and VW haven't work together on the Amarok / Xclass. They have done very succesfully so with the Sprinter / Crafter buses.

Re: Marius's Touareg R5 life thread.

    Happens quite a lot, unfortunately.

In the 90s I sold a Golf GTI 8v to a dealer. Car had 170k km on the clock. As luck would have it, I spotted the car a year later, and chatted to the owner.

Better fuel consumption is probably due to much less weight. T3 weighs just over 2100kg.

My dad fitted the 17" wheels and tyres he had on his 2.0 on his new V6.

He has done two trips to Henties already, and no issues at all. Size is 265/65/17.

To add, remember to press the Off road button, whenever you are not on tarmac.

It really transform the car on gravel roads.

    Re: Amarok advise please

    No, way too expensive.

The Amarok is cheap to maintain, only expensive item is the timing belt and parts every 90k km. That will set you back anything from R5k to R11k depending where you take it....
  35. Re: VW Caravelle 4 Motion T4, 3,2 V6 Manual....Yay or Nay?

Let us know how it drive once you have it. The one I drove back in 2007 was very new, less than 5000km, but it had very little power low down. Maybe the auto box was to blame for that.
