    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

I am not a Toyota man. Had a Hilux which was a disaster and later a D4D Fortuner which did exactly what it said on the box.

That said, any Cruiser Wagon, 200 or new 300, can fill my garage at...

Re: Isuzu 3.2 V6 not starting

Had the same on my 360.

The fuel pump was the culprit. It lost all pressure, although it sounded normal. Quite simple for any indie to test the presssure.

Unlilely spark - those engines use...
  3. Re: What are your non negotiables when buying a 4x4?

    Reliability
    7 Seats
    Low Range
    Decent Fuel Consumption

(the 5th would be all the modcons - but if the above 4 are present, 5th will be there).
  4. Re: HILUX GD6 AUTO searching for gear after driving over a speedbump

The Isuzu MUX runs exactly the same Aisin gearbox as the Toyota. It suffers from the same malady as described by Toyota owners i.e. fondness of gearing down. Although I believe the software must be...

    Re: New MuX aka Stormtrooper

My MUX closing in on 130 000 km's. Probably makes me the "old man" around here. Am planning to retire it to my son in 2 years time, which will be his wheels for years to come. So, we will see if they...

In the menu there is a setting to change it from digits to a "bar". I prefer the bar - easier to pick up on the periphery.

I missed that part? My eyesight is going a bit, but no excessive hairgrow on hands. What about misfiring......?
  12. Re: Buying a 2019 MUX - service history concern

Get a print-out from Isuzu on the vehicle's service history and let that guide you. And let Isuzu put it in writing that they are satisfied with the service history.
  13. Re: First time 4x4 buyer - is a dark grey SUV a bad idea?

Many moons ago the chaps from "Lat Wiel" parked 2 BMW's (IIRC) next to each other on the runway at Upington in the summer. One white, one black - windows closed and recording cabin temps. Absolute...

Hartbeesfontein to Ballito this morning. 760 km, 6h40 mins, 10.8 [email protected] That is as good as it gets for a 7 seat SUV that is very offroad capable as well.....methinks.

Re: Isuzu MUX vs Toyota Fortuner 2.4 gd6

The MUX has way more cupholders.

I will not say more, as an MUX owner that has had it for 2 years and 120 000 very hard km's, without the slightest hiccup, I will sound biased (which I am).

Re: Sodwana Kosi Jozini road conditions

If not for the speed bumps, this route would be a no-brainer. Cannot even engage cruise-control. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd............Even more of a pain when towing. Road surface great however.

It is an Alpine unit with good sound and very user-friendly. Can not say about the smaller screen.

Re: What 4x4 Suv to get Budget R400 to R420k

Do yourself a favour and have a long hard look at the Isuzu MUX. It will tick all your boxes, probably around a 2018 model and you will have warranty and maintenance plan still active.
