    In my original post I specifically excluded trucks. I know full well the benefits of drums in that application. But for road cars, its just silly to still have drums.

    Tall bikes are also just a confidence thing. You can learn to ride a tall bike no matter how short you are, but it is nerve wracking at first.

    lower end mountain bikes have cable operated disk brakes, sů a similar set up should work on trailers. The drums on overun brakes are cable actuated as it is.

    License fee is directly linked to the Tare weight of a vehicle, code 8 code 10 etc (which is now qcyailly B C EB EC etc) are drivers license catagories.

    I believe there must be a cost benefit to fitting drums, because the manufacturers wouldnít do it...

    Instead of battling to find those cylinder, I would seriously consider a disk brake conversion. Used spares off of an 80 should do the trick.
