Re: South Africa, Botswana and Namibia

    Sorry to hear.
We'll be skipping Bots and access Nam from the south, because of the mentioned issues.
Our plan (hatched today) is to travel to Upington, meet up with our travel buddies coming from...

    Re: Troopy back

This thing is built to go into the bush, and to stay in the bush. The poor engine output and relatively low tow-weight precludes it from being a family holiday vehicle.

    Defender Re: Coolant replacement 110V8

    Thanks for explaining.
I don't think we are OT at all.
I am however not convinced. The issue is about the precipitation of minerals and metals out of solution during heating and cooling cycles as...

Jip, same experience in my Blazer. I have no doubt it is caused by incorrect speed prediction for certain roads. I have used my "human inbuilt calculator MK Very Old" to figure out that the road ...

    Defender Re: Coolant replacement 110V8

Please consider that testing water to be fit for drinking doesn't mean it won't have compounds and metals that can form deposts in your cooling system.
Here is some reading on the issue:...

Re: SWB 3.8 v6 Mivec advise please.

You can check the Pajero Owners Club website, Cloyd used to show up there every now and then.
He stayed with petrol diffs, but definitely was a different ratio, which is why he did both. He did it...

Re: SWB 3.8 v6 Mivec advise please.

Even if the ratio isn't quite the same, then you just swap both diffs. I know Cloyd did that back in the day to his Gen 3 LWB.

    Ford & Mazda Re: 2 turbos in 2 Months (Ranger 2.2 2014)

    Thanks.
Instinct suggests that carbon can't do that. It looks as if a bit of metal (or maybe a few pieces) found its way into the turbo. I can imagine it hitting a vane, that is spinning at 100 000...

Re: 4Wd-27/7 Ute of the year!

    OK Johan.
My use of the term sidewall wasn't well considered. The longer to type, on my cellphone keyboard, should have been "larger distance between rim and ground.

Re: Isuzu rim and tyres sizes options

I would say if 16" rims on an Izusu allows it to perform the same off-road as a G Wagon, then that is a REAL benefit.
