Re: ASPW's latest build in Oz

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4CIwmttThM

His latest video on tour. Watched it early morning after my cycle.

I have to admit, and although I still don't think his latest build is The Ultimate...

Re: Fortune Vs Hilux for Overlanding

It also very much depends if you are a SUV or Bakkie person. I owned and used both for overlanding and my preference is the bakkie, I find it more practical and serves my needs better in terms of...

    Re: In a Jeep again...

    Congrats Rainier.

Jo, it must be terrible to drive the Hemi ;D. No replacement for displacement. I would not be able to achieve a good fuel consumption with all that power :)

    Re: BF Goodrich KO2.

I tend to run them slightly higher than the norm I think, 2.2 allround. But then I have replacement bumpers front and back with a 12k pound winch, a canopy with aux battery and my 90L NL fridge stays...

    Re: BF Goodrich KO2.

Tire pressure is also key, especially in an unloaded bakkie. If I load and tow I normally inflate the rear to 2.5 - 2.7 BAR. If I forget to lower the pressure and it rains it will spin. But then most...
  7. Re: DASTEK UNICHIP - VDJ79 - V8 Diesel Land Cruiser double cab

Ah ok so you opted not to go the 'solder-in' option and the harness and chip is then located in the engine bay. This is then why it differ from my install as I opted for the solder-in option and the...
  8. Re: DASTEK UNICHIP - VDJ79 - V8 Diesel Land Cruiser double cab

Ok strange how the installation on my 79 differ.

Paul & Peter, who did your installations? Was this at Dastek or another outlet?
  9. Re: DASTEK UNICHIP - VDJ79 - V8 Diesel Land Cruiser double cab

According to my experience having had a Unichip installed in 4 different vehicles there are no pugs in the engine bay. You have two options, the link-up is either soldered into the ECU harness in the...

    Re: BF Goodrich KO2.

Agree with Quiksilver, I am very happy with a new set of KO2's on my Hilux. They have only done about 16Kkm and no issues at all.
  11. Re: DASTEK UNICHIP - VDJ79 - V8 Diesel Land Cruiser double cab

    Hi Paul,

Can you please specify which plugs? I had one on the 79 I sold a few years ago and zero issues.

My install had the Unichip inside the cab at the passenger foot well. So unless you...

Re: Today I like my Hilux even more

    Hi Matthew,

I had mine installed at 4x4 Megaworld Centurion and the guys did a fantastic job. Any reputable 4x4 outlet should be able to do a proper fitment.

I have used Exel tanks in 4...

Re: How long will fridge run on dual battery

No problem Neil, your setup works for you, which is important.

The OP did ask how long TWO fridges will go on his 100AH battery;D, which in my opinion is less than 24 hours when in warm weather.

Re: How long will fridge run on dual battery

The variables will play havoc on any formula you try to apply, in my opinion and experience.

I am now very fortunate having just upgraded my aux setup in my Hilux. Victron DC-DC and Victron MPPT...

    Re: Canopy Advice
