Here's a short (4minute) series of clips showing a drive we did from the Brandberg to Rhino Camp down the Ugab River Canyon in our 2.4 GV.
Quite a spectacular days adventure unfortunately the video...
Yes drove down Ongeluksnek on the same trip - stunning pass however I think driving up the pass would be quite a challenge [emoji106][emoji482]
Have air - helpers and 40mm lift - still gave the bash-plates a workout[emoji4]
Recently drove my 2008 2.4M GV loaded with RTT & all camping gear North to South over Lesotho's Matebeng pass - quite an adventure [emoji106][emoji4]

Definitely worth it if you plan to do even moderate off-road driving such as sand roads - where the middleman can be a problem and in rocky areas. They significantly reduce rear end bounce and ground...
Changed my 2008 2.4 GV's original front break pads for the first time after 184500km - (pix attached of the old pads) with Ferodo FDB4060
Wonder if they will last as long [emoji848]

Many thanks Davey for that information - I have located the bleeder assembly on the side of the bell housing however it's going to be quite difficult to get to and being a plastic part I fear it...
I had previously bled each brake slave until the fluid was clear (about a year ago) however this would not replace the fluid in the clutch system.
Need to find out if there is a way to bleed the...
First thing we checked was break fluid level - was fill to max indicator.
Clutch slave cylinder appears to be inside the bell housing? Could not visually detect anything.

Recently back from a 2000km 20 day trip around Lesotho where I experienced an unusual clutch problem. The problem occurred on two occasions and only when ascending the significant high...
175000 Kim's on my 2009 2.4 GV - no clutch problems so far
Wizard fitted my lift kit - gave 250mm ground clearance below the bash plates at the center with the vehicle lightly loaded.
To aid the loaded vehicle fitted rear air bags.
Together very happy with...
Happy with my 2008 GV 2.4 fuel computer - usually about 0,5l/100km optimistic.
Can usually add about 5l to totally fill after initial auto-stop.
Doing this I drive 50 to 70 km before the fuel gauge...
On 160k km original clutch no problems and lots of off-road driving.
2008 GV 2.4
What is interesting is that one of the 3 idler pulleys is marked "Germany" and is equally badly worn.

If you are replacing or having your serpentine belt replaced check carefully the wear on the plastic idler pulleys (3 off) even if the bearings are ok.
After 160k km I found two of my idlers...

I have now completed 100k km in my 2.4 GV (2008 model) over some of SA's, Botswana's, Namibia's and Zambia's worst roads and offer the following from this experience.
40mm lift kit (my lift...
A friend ( see image) and I have both added 2 x20l to our 2.4 GV's. This is a homemade extension bolted directly to the GV's ladder frame.
Small disadvantage - need to remove jerries to open the...
The tensioner sets the belt tension - I don't think it can be adjusted.
Finger problem [emoji4] pulpy =pulley
Investigating a "squeaking" engine noise on my 2.4 GV I found the serpentine accessory belt still in place but split in two along its entire length. I was surprised by this as this Canadian made...
Done 160 000km with at least 50 000 km of that tough off-road driving - still on the original clutch. 2008 GV 2.4 M.
My 2008 2.4 M on 160 000 km still going strong - holding thumbs [emoji106][emoji4]
I notice my 2.4 M GV has started to leak engine oil from the bell housing - possibly the crank shaft oil seal ?
Has anyone had this problem?
160k km guess I should replace the clutch as well...
Not too sure about that
Received the following annexure to written notice to appear in court in terms of section 56 of the criminal procedures act, 1977(act 51 of 1977)

Apart from the 4x4 forum "widely published" where?
Ignorantia juris non excusat or ignorantia legis neminem excusat (Latin for "ignorance of the law excuses not" and "ignorance of law excuses no one" respectively) is a legal principle holding that a...
If you are planning to tackle this route come well prepared as it is badly eroded in parts and may in fact be impassable in the wet.
Here's an image of some big steps in the lower region just North...
Really interesting to read of your experience.
Here's mine [emoji4]
