    Re: 2020 Jimny Shocks

A lot of us have had good results with the setup from Des-Sol. I don't think it is even worth the effort to try and get Suzuki to fix it.

Not correct. The shocks on the gen 4 are the same configuration as on the gen 3. The lengths may be different.
  4. Poll: Re: Learned GV 2.4 owners on the Highveld. What do you gooi into yours? 95 or 93?

Mine only ever got 93. No issues.

The minimum 95 is for coastal use.

Re: Engine rebuild vs jap import for 2010 Jimny

Rebuilds of the Suzuki motors can be costly, because the head uses stretch bolts, which need to be replaced.

Re: Engine rebuild vs jap import for 2010 Jimny

The stock M13A can be replaced with the M15A (Swift and old Ignis), M16A (Swift sport) or M18A (Liana - scarce). Either Zook Spares (Pretoria) or Wild 4x4 (Boksburg) would be able to help you. If you...

Suspension Re: 2018 Gen 3 Jimny Gabriel HDP install issue.

The HDP shocks fit and work fine on the new shape Jimny (i.e Nov 2018 onwards).

    Re: 2019 Jimny Sagging

I don't like the centre mount that one is going to be mangled on my first outing. The front and rear points are mounted to the body mounts as far as I can see.

Re: Jimny tyres 215/75/15 vs std tyres and 40mm lift

215/80R15 is the biggest you can fit without a lift (4.6% bigger than stock). 215/75R15 is the best if you want to maintain your fuel consumption (1.5% bigger than stock). There are also a lot more...

Re: What size BFG's for Jimny?

Re: What size BFG's for Jimny?

I had 215/80R15's on, before I went up to 235/75R15's.

The effect on fuel consumption is quite severe. So if she is not planning to do really rough stuff, stick with 215/75R15.

Re: What size BFG's for Jimny?

Ideal size is 215/75R15 as it is marginally bigger than stock. The dunlops that the car comes with are crap. I removed them within the first week.

Tyres that people have had good results with on...

Re: Jimny tyres 215/75/15 vs std tyres and 40mm lift

I had 215/80R15's on my Gen 3, which are bigger than all of the sizes you have listed. I never had any issues off-road, no matter how steep. I never did any dune driving, but the bigger the tyre the...

Re: What is a good A/T tyre for the new Jimny

The auto actually works quite well. It would be nice if it had more ratios though, it is only a 4 speed, so the revs tend to get quite high when it changes down on the hills. There have been a...

    Re: Tesla 1million mile battery..

That's pretty good. I spent R75k in maintenance on my Jeep over 3 years (10 years ago), and the same amount in petrol over the same period (6km/l).

Re: SHOULD I BUY A 2010 Suzuki Jimny??

130 000Km is reasonably low mileage for a Jimny. The main draw back the Jimny has for overlanding is the fuel range. It is very tempting to put a lift kit and bigger tyres on, however, this has a...

Re: Rattles on a 2018 GV

  27. Re: Suzuki Jimny ground clearance with a mountain bike?

It would depend on the type of rack that they want to use. Note that the racks that mount on the spare wheel of the Jimny should not be used - the back door cannot take the weight and buckles.

Re: Jimny Auto 2020 duine traction control

Re: Jimny Auto 2020 duine traction control

In high range ESP is turned on over 30kph. In low range ESP is off. There is no way to disable the traction control. It may be possible by removing fuses, but I haven't tried yet.

That is for the older model. The Gen 4 is different.
  33. Re: 2020 jimny beep beep for key in ignition door open

There is a plug close to the indicator stalk that you need to unplug. I did post pics here a while back, but I changed phones in the meantime, so don't have the pics any more.

Not available in SA. Suzuki Auto SA also don't seem to be interested in providing it.

Google maps works great, Waze also works, but I have had issues with it where it stops working occasionally.
