    Try the spot at the lighthouse. Have not fished but hear from the locals it is v.good for galjoen.

    Just remember the wind usually howls in Namaqua - up to 70 kmh. Not sure how this will affect...

    Using solar in Chobe for game viewing

    Interesting to see that a Lodge in Chobe is using solar for game viewing trips along the river.

    They also have electric (solar powered) game viewing vehicles which do not disturb the game.

    On a recent trip we saw a lot more Eland than usual. Maybe due to the drought have migrated from Botswana to Sanparks waterholes.

    Twee Rivieren Camp is running low on Diesel and SANParks has limited the amount of Diesel per vehicle to 20L. Refill at Askham, Nossob and MataMata.

    The short river route from De Hoop
    to Richtersberg can be sandy - extremely fine sand which one ploughs through.
    There are some hidden deep holes waiting as well.

    Twee Rivieren New Hide

    A Bird hide has just been opened at Twee Rivieren.

    It has a great view down to a waterhole and is bound to be popular.

    Entrance is in front of Chalet No 1.
