    Re: Caravans under 750kg

The Caravette 4 is probably the nicest of the bunch (...and that's my subjective opinion). The external styling is still pleasing and the side with the door cut-out is structurally better than the...

    Re: Jurgens XCape

Try SA Shade in Brackenfell, I bought one from them. They manufacture and supply to some of the caravan dealers but will also sell to the public at a price that is well below 'dealer price'....

    Re: Caravette 4 axle

The price should be around R10k for an axle rated at 1000kg. See Burquip website https://burquip.co.za/product-category/axles/

Re: Am I being paranoid about camp safety?

True. And even if you are in a tin box how do you escape? Sitting behind my desk I can think of many ways of getting someone out of a 'tin box' without working too hard but I won't elaborate because...

    Re: leaf spring mounting reinforcement

Is there a reason why 'Double Eye Leaf Springs' are not often seen on trailers as this will remove the need to have a slider bracket for the loose end of the leaf spring?

Re: AL-KO bolt together caravan chassis

The pics of the chassis (plural) appears to show units suitable for some bad roads. I had a quote for a good road chassis (1200kg) with some fittings about 3 years ago that came to R21k without VAT....

    Re: leaf spring mounting reinforcement

The answer is quite simple...its all about levers and distances. The typical base of the welded mount is too small for the applied loads because trailers do get overloaded at times and roads have...

  30. Re: Which old Caravan to convert to Gravel Roader??

  32. Re: Which old Caravan to convert to Gravel Roader??
