Re: So who is going camping this weekend?

I didn't notice too much - they gents' were very clean and very tidy as always. But I'm a philistine. The lady-friend mentioned that the ladies' ablutions were all totally new inside and was very...

Re: So who is going camping this weekend?

We were there quite recently - my first time with the new owners, the lady-friend's first time ever. It was still fantastic, and there have been improvements. The ablutions are something else now,...

Re: Is bigger BETTER? Camping fridge!!!!

I'm personally not a massive fan of split unit camping fridges. I don't see the requirement for a freezer. I've never toured so far remotely that I've not been able to resupply en-route. And when...

    Sticky: Re: Gauteng Member Sightings

    Forgot to post yesterday.

Spotted this LR Disco 2 (I think - I am a moron with Landrovers) on the corner of Solomon Mahlangu and Jacqueline drive yesterday. Nice truck. Who are you ?

Sorry - only noticed your post now. I will have to check when it is and figure out if I am going to be available or not. My weekends are all over the place for a bit. If I can make it, I guess I will...

Re: So who is going camping this weekend?

This happens... My kids rebel and insist on 'on grid camping' too occasionally....

It is still better than being stuck at home.

    Enjoy. :)

  12. Re: Crossing the Namib From Kanaan to Meob bay to Walvis bay

First time I drove Kalahari dunes was at Transboegoe many years ago with the Patrol forum.

I was still running 32" Dunlop Grandtrek AT3's on the Patrol. I was loathe to drop my tyre pressures too...

Thanks. I did not camp at Tierhoek, but I did drive past it. I presumed it was part of the conservancy. Thanks for the PDF as well. I shall save that for future reference when I head into the area...

  18. Wood in Hartbeespoort - Don't Buy Next to the Road

I'm pretty off-base and tongue in cheek with a lot of my posts. I know that there are various forumites who probably despise me. However, your comment is rude and totally uncalled for. :|

Yes - this too. The Patrol is 20 years old. Although it has been very well looked after and is in fantastic shape, it has had many hard travels and has a few "bush-scars"... I definitely think these...

Re: The Inglorious Tshwane Metro Police Department

Pretty sure a Disco is probably the same size as a Patrol, so I'm not sure it's a Patrol thing. I think it is more the fact that it is a pieces of steel on both ends thing. :)

    I was thinking...
