    thanks Plunger the chrome did go dull.

    I do not have access to a better PSU now, I will leave it in HCL for a few days and see what happens.....

    Ok experiment fail......

    had about 80g bicarb in a 2 liter water,

    Shower rose connected to the postive lead, other lead in the solution
    with 12V 2A PSU, fizzed abit left it in for about 20...

    oh well it is lockdown.
    1. try phone charger (5V 1A) in bicarb (negative to tap)
    2. try PSU module 12V 1A (what i have)
    3. confirm or rethink stratergy if not succesfull

    I know the guys did tell me that the older the taps are the more difficult the chrome come off. But I had an old shower rose and taps in hcl for 3 days nothing. Hence why I'm gonna try reverse...

    I think its really the bearing service on the cruiser which is pricey at the agents, at agent rates.
