    Assemble, put in, start, then I use engine oil in a squirty old fashioned oil tin. If it's assemble, wait for other stuff to be done (like in a restoration/rebuild) then I'd use engine assembly lube.

    Make sure there's a bit of free play (+-8mm) on the clutch pedal rod (connected to pedal) to hydraulic piston, you can feel it by hand and adjust by loosening the locknut and turning piston rod.
