  1. Re: What are your non negotiables when buying a 4x4?

It should not look like a tub of ice-cream left in the sun to melt.

It should be a very good allrounder, be as good on the 1000km tar to Maun as it is running the sandy tracks to Savuti.

    Space,...

Re: Running a 3-phase machine on 220 via a VFD

About R2.5k. The balance of you electronics may not like the output from the vfd, unless you lock it at 50Hz.

The other option is to convert 1 phase to 3phase using a 3 phase motor and capacitor.

Re: What Vehicle do I consider

After having owned a 300tdi and Td5 Discoveries I would go for the Td5 everyday, if I cannot have a V8 petrol. My 300tdi did not make 200k km's before it popped an engine and the it popped some more...

Almost all the people I know with grid tie in Pta just feed back through mechanical meters with no municipal arrangements.

    Re: DC-DC Charger Comparison

According to Voltex catalogue you will get approximately 0.5V drop over a 5m length of cable at 20A, that will end up in 1V running both Pos and Neg through 5m long cables. I would also suggest using...

It will be pretty easy to stop one banks injectors from injecting fuel as its not a sequential injection system, one relay could do the work. The trick is now to disable your valves on that bank from...

Re: Uys is daar iets wat ons moet weet.

Hoe is die overfueling 'n elektroniese fout? Dit is 'n meganiese fout in 'n injector wat die sproei patroon beïnvloed, dan brand dit 'n meganiese gat in die suier.

Work has unfortunately taken priority, I will have to sit this one out.

Its a pity, the D4 would have pushed the top of the charts. ;D

  15. Re: Who can cut a boot floorboard for tuner in Johannesburg/Pretoria

Jigsaw or router, plywood tends to chip the fibre on the top layer.

Lazer cutting will give you the cleanest finish.
  16. Re: Ford very finnicky over petrol - 2nd engine replacement imminent.

Those red deposits could also be manganese deposits from octane boosters in unlead fuel
  17. Re: Ford very finnicky over petrol - 2nd engine replacement imminent.

This is what a healthy plug on a new engine should look like.
  18. Re: Ford very finnicky over petrol - 2nd engine replacement imminent.

There seems to be a lot of deposits on them, Google what a healthy plug should look like.

  22. Poll: Re: What do you feel more comfortable with, newer car, or an easier to fix car?

  23. Poll: Re: What do you feel more comfortable with, newer car, or an easier to fix car?

  24. Re: Mecer Inverter - 8 Batteries - Real World Figures
