Re: Pajero 2nd Hand or New Jimny

For me, the two are so far apart that if she is seriously considering the Jimny, she probably won’t be happy with the Paj at all.

Re: Dometic CFF-45. Any users or info?

As far as I know the CFF range uses the Secop compressor (the old Danfoss), while the CFX uses their in-house designed compressor.

CFX also has the (rather useless) wifi connection and app, and...
  4. Re: "Something" bit my daughter - advice please

Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections. I don’t know what use it would have against the protein-based venom from a spider or other bite? Other than clear up a possible secondary bacterial...

I have two more concerns. This may be have been sorted by now, but the ones I saw needed someone to hold the nozzle to the exhaust else it would pop off the whole time, and secondly I worry about the...

Re: PS Handbrake Adjustment - help please

Seems I got it semi sorted.

Started from scratch (except for the cleaning). Jacked up the car, released tension at the cable adjuster at the handbrake lever, and again worked the barrel nut until...

Re: PS Handbrake Adjustment - help please

I did, yes. It has disc rear brakes, with the handbrake working on the drum portion. It has very little wear, the shoes are still good.

If the cables are stretched, is that it, can’t adust them...

PS Handbrake Adjustment - help please

I’m having some trouble with my handbrake not working well after an extended drive down a shallow river. I thought mud must have entered the drum.

I figured I’d clean it all out and adjust the...

Re: Dometic cf 50 or other running temp

I have a bluetooth battery voltage monitor, that stores the data for 30 days in graph format. Very easy to see the compressor’s on/off cycles.

Yes, I do believe that hot air gets between the...

Could we discuss the effect of parking on an incline on an automatic gearbox?

Re: Dometic cf 50 or other running temp

I run mine on 1 degree as a bar fridge at home, and set it at 3 degrees when camping to conserve the battery a little.

Beers are still cold enough that you think “wow that’s a nice cold beer!”

    Re: “Stop Shipment” on Prados

We also did this, and the OSTI ruled against us at claims time when the customer lodged a dispute.

Re: Plug in bluetooth battery monitor

This is the same as from my ebay link. Works well enough that I’m confident I can check my SOC when in range. Also keeps a 30 day history in graph format, so you can see charge and discharge cycles.

Re: Plug in bluetooth battery monitor

I use this one so I check battery voltage on my phone. Checked it against 3 multimeters and it is accurate enough.

Re: Torsion bar suspension Mazda DC

Measure from the top of the wheel arch to the centre of the front hub, before you jack it up. This removes the variable of the tyres deflecting differently.

Re: BFG KO2 REVIEW - Very Disappointed

We must also draw a distinction between tar that is merely wet (ie lubricated with water), vs water so deep that the tread cannot dissipate it, and then aquaplanes.

    From what I can understand,...

Very hot (40+) or hot and windy days in summer are sometimes declared as total fire ban days.

When I bought the K&N, it wasn’t for the performance gain, but rather for the fact that it could be washed and re-used.
