    Re: August trip report

Re: 30 Day Trip To Botswana

    Hi John.

    A couple of comments;

For me personally 3 nights at Kubu is a long time.

I see you have 3 nights at Ihaha so that is probably okay, but that 136 kms from Savuti will be a long...

Re: 30 Day Trip To Botswana

Hi John, some food for thought, and comments from other members, a number of people have quite rightly suggested Ihaha, with its river setting in the Park.

When we were in Bots last month we...

  5. Re: Richtersveld would you rooftop or take an explorer ?

Different opinion; I would say it depends how long you are going for and how slow you are prepared to travel.

Akkedis pass seems to be wider and easier to negotiate than it used to be, but...

    August trip report

During August we did a camping trip through Namibia, up into Caprivi, and returned via Botswana, this was a delayed trip from 2020. We decided not to include the week in Hwange as it was too much...

    Re: Addo elephant

The Friday and Saturday avoid is actually applicable to the campsite.

The parks are quite different, bush in Addo is much more dense while MZ is more open.

I would certainly give Friday and Saturday nights a miss. I have seen big groups that should actually be having their gathering somewhere else.

Re: Camping in Camdeboo National Park

The campsites are very nice but 3 nights is a long time for me in that Park. A visit to the Valley of Desolation is a must but with the drought the bird hide is probably a long way from the water.

We entered Bots via Ngoma about 2 weeks ago with a PCR test we did in Katima. We were then given a rapid test at the border too, no charge.

Re: Kgalagadi - Bots and Sa

Re: Camps in Palapye. Any recommendations?

It is quite a noisy campsite, especially over the weekend.
If you have the time Goo-Moremi is a better bet but a long drive in and out.
