    Thanks... the basket sits along the full length of the rail , so the load will be distributed along the rail, just don't want the supports disappearing into the roof !!!

    My 2014 gets about 8.5km/l ...or 11.5L/100km I think I have 2 lead feet..... I'm sure the chip does't help either

    I also had a strange noise from underneath.. turned out that the aluminium tread on the side-bar step ( under doors ) was loose .
    Drilled out the old rivets and replaced with nylon lock-nuts 100%
