    Re: Pajero Lexus 3UZ conversion.

I'm loving the detail and research that went into this build. I should say, I cannot wait to see the journey.

My rule with conversions and those that speak of "resale value will be ###",...

Re: Can electric cars work in South Africa

I doubt many will solely have am EV in their garage, someone earlier eluded to someone owning x2 i3s, thus I think EVs as commuters make sense.

There was a time when many of us would never have...

Re: Can electric cars work in South Africa

Beyond the isolated i3 and Leaf, do you reckon there is a mass appetite or we playing classic South African "wait and see" game?

I've been knocking on Fire It Up door for the Zero electric...

Re: New to the Jeep brand, 2.8 CRD LTD

Went with this tensioner pulley from Masterparts. Made in PRC, I cross fingers it'll be good for 70k km.

Re: New to the Jeep brand, 2.8 CRD LTD

    [

Well... The belt said bye bye a few weeks ago, so I sent one down to my dad, and that too said bye-bye after a few km. So I requested he bring the car to me, installed a new 3rd belt, and she...
  7. Re: Tyres, Mags and Rims: Trade, Buying, Selling, Swap, Give-away or whatever ....

R3k for the set of 5 might be a fair ask. I had purchased them for the KJ as I wanted a wider option in the 15", but they wouldn't clear the calipers.

    Re: prevalence of stealing

They are used as taxis, so a real target. Unfortunately the Etios also a target for the engine.

To the OP, Jeep Cherokee might be a safer replacement.

Discovery 3 Re: Disposing of my deceased Disco

I think the Lexus/Other conversion that keeps a good shell going for a fraction of the price is worth it. Purists frown at the thought, however a R60-80k Capex to keep a good shell running and if...

Re: The good son - The Colt 2.8 NA Journey

Next on my radar is the suspension. She creaks a lot, so looking at polyurethane bushes on as many a spots I can get to.

Re: The good son - The Colt 2.8 NA Journey

Over the weekend I installed the 3rd pulley (thanks to the "pulley key" that was homemade by the previous mechanic). All went in correctly, using the correct woodkey. 100% sealed no oil.

    I then...

Re: I need your honest opinion - Pajero Sport

Re: Your Idea of a Beginner Overland Vehicle

    Re: Bolero help - Seats

Sounds like you enjoy the vehicle albeit the seats. Recommendation from me would be you get them reupholstered and repacked as OEM ones from the breakers will have similar manufacturing flaws.
  27. Re: Any tricks to lube the clutch plate splines without taking out the gearbox?

Motorcycle lube sound like an option.

I suppose best access point may be by the release bearing, provided you don't get any lube onto the clutch plate itself.
