Re: FJ Cruiser size of starter battery?

Any battery over 40Ah will work - for a decent while at least....

When in a twang buy cheapest you can get that fits. Then replace with a large as possible later.

Re: Snowmaster vs National Luna 230/12v

    Both brands are excellent products.

Insulation is king...the 70mm from Snomaster is a preference for me

I even add 20mm polystyrene sheeting inserted between my fridges sides and jackets

    Re: Tent Light

I still have an issue with it - so every time when you have the light on and the tent is opened for a few seconds for whatever reason those goggas go rushing in.

Re: Y62 Patrol (Facelift) or V6 Prado (Facelift)

Good idea. I am not so sure that price for the Y62 Facelift is correct. My reason for saying this is that with the facelift version coming into RSA Nissan is indeed offering discounts on the pre...

Re: New Blue Nova camping battery.

A Lithium battery with a BMS (such as Blue Nova) actually only needs a very simple constant voltage charger at 14.2 to 14.4V. The BMS needs time at those voltages to effectively do Top Balancing....
  18. Re: Is a Nissan Patrol better than a Toyota Landcruiser?

What actually should be read between the lines of my post is the massive comfort gap between a Patrol and a Cruiser 76.

Claimer: I have been both driver and passenger in a 76 for many kms

My 3.0CRD average 12.2L/100km. My old TD42 13.4L/100km (was much better some time ago).

    Re: Alternator wear and tear

Excessive heat kills an alternator. The cooling fan inside the alternator needs to be able to do its job. For that it needs revs. So drawing high amps is not really an issue at decent cruising...

Doubt if shocks will do that. Loosen the rear stabilizer bar and see if it makes a difference. Could be that the links are to short now and pulling one side up
