Re: Where to buy charcoal in bulk?

Hier in die Kaap kan jy redelike houtskool by Namibian Hardwood kry teen 'n baie billike R26 per 5kg sak.
Maar ook net as jy 20 sakke minimum koop EN dit self gaan haal.

    Ek het verlede jaar vir...

    Re: Tracks4Africa during COVID-19

I have my fairly old T4A SD card (1405.01) that is plugged into my Nuvi 65.
This works well to avoid confusion between Garmap and T4A in the GPS.

Is it possible to use the latest downloadable map...

  6. Re: Can I use any smart charger for Lithium batteries?

I would guess that your old battery has a fairly high internal resistance and this causes the 2A pulse to reach a high voltage on that particular battery. Not a good battery to use for this test. My...
  7. Re: Can I use any smart charger for Lithium batteries?

    Thanks for feedback.
Did not know about that bit. Does it charge the 10,5V battery right up to 16,7V??

Not good for lithium or lead-acid.

Still, I did specify a "good" battery and 10,5V is not...
  8. Re: Can I use any smart charger for Lithium batteries?

Since you have your own charger:

Please read in the manual what steps the charger goes through and then do a test or 2 on a typical 12V battery. Whether it is a lead acid battery or a Blue Nova...
  9. Re: Can I use any smart charger for Lithium batteries?

No problem other than it will take longer to charge.
  10. Re: Can I use any smart charger for Lithium batteries?

I have the same PSD008 charger.
It works fine to charge a 108Ah Blue Nova battery, and it will do the same for your 44Ah BN battery.

    But...

Pretty sure that is nonsense story.
Simply shutting the fuel tap is a useful way of stopping a petrol genny.

Re: Pro User PSA008 Digital Inteligent Battery Charger

It works out fine with the Blue Nova 13V 108Ah battery.
I prefer the AGM setting (marginally quicker), but the normal setting is also fine. Once the battery approaches fully charged status, the...

That is bad news - disconnect your utility battery without delay and have the utility charging system checked out.

    Re: Royal Deep Cycle Batteries.

    Mad, no.

If it had been standing for 6+ months it is impossible to guess the condition of that battery. You need to take a DC meter (multimeter would be good) to read the voltage of the internal...

    Re: DC-DC Charger Comparison

You can, but it is not ideal.
It would be better to have the feed directly from the vehicle's starter battery/alternator.

    Re: No of Solar Panels

Met 'n serieskakeling moet die stroom deur die 2 panele noodwendig dieselfde wees.

    Re: Ctek Chargers

    Cheaper is relative.

To charge at 8A you will need a panel of around 150W, and that will cost quite a bit more than the Midas charger at R1200.
