Re: CTek D to DC charger

For your current discussion it is not really of great concern, I'm just pointing out that the highlighted part is not correct at all.

The Ctek actually does exactly this and I have witnessed it...

Re: Can tyres make SUCH a big difference

Don't think its that simple. A lot of it has to do with throttle position. It doesn't matter how great a particular vehicle's torque is at highway speeds, all the other factors already mentioned will...

    Re: Freezer problems

This is the only thing I can think of. Especially because it happened to 2 fridges simultaneously.

If the air vent areas was blocked, then there is no way in hell those fridges would cope with the...

Re: Ammo box, it is a good option

Hinges would be a significant (if perhaps the only improvement) that could still be done to these boxes!

Love them to bits. I own 10 in total and cannot imagine my life without them.

    There are...

    Re: Freezer problems

At first a thought that this may be a charging problem (but you said this happened on AC too) but it appears to be fridge related now.

    But both fridges?

Are you sure they had enough ventilation...
  10. Re: Chernobyl - a wildlife haven. Would you go?

Thanks for this. I read everything and thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a few things about radio active material and radiation as well!

This is really something I would also want to do, to...

I should've highlighted a bigger section in his quote.

I was actually referring to "sounding like a thousand Mandrakes"

    Re: Charging AA, AAA batteries.

This sounds plain dangerous to me.

Why tempt fate? If one gets it wrong (seems a second or two too long) and you have a battery explode in your face. Armgat solution if you ask me. ;D

  19. Re: Re-using filler and drain plug gaskets

    Agree with absolutely everything here.
  20. Re: Re-using filler and drain plug gaskets

I must say I am very aware on the over tightening stuff even though I don't even own a torque wrench.

Maybe I just have a natural feeling for when something is tight enough, maybe I got lucky.

  22. Re: Re-using filler and drain plug gaskets

I've been using the old washers for a 2nd time for years, on all my vehicles.

Never ever had a problem and have never lost a drop of oil.

Yes I have thought about this and there are several reasons why this is a better option.

I have a few laying around. I also still have space for this. Will do.

    Marc,

I've been using Manny's services for the past 3-4 years with several home improvement jobs.

I can really recommend him in terms of quality and aftercare service.

    You wont regret it.

    Re: Ponta Malongane update

We were attacked in swarms as well, but Mozitech was taken religiously by all of us (youngest is 8 years old) and it certainly did its thing.

No symptoms or illness by anyone of our group.

  29. Re: The Grab Bag - an essential piece of overlanding equipment

So I was given this bag by a good mate who upgraded his kit.

And I've been meaning to do this for a very long time.

So this morning I was bored and thought I'd see what I could rustle up for...

    Wildtrack 3.2 tyre size

    Hi guys.

Quick question please. My FIL wants to purchase 285 x 75 x 16 muds

Will this size clear the wheel arches sufficiently? Or are they too big?

I don't know what the OEM tyre spec is...
