Re: Living with a Jimny and a baby

The thing is, everyone can only comment on their own personal experience. :)

The reason we went with the SUV is the ease of access to items in the boot when mom is sitting at the back. If she...

For soft sand I use the anchor pegs. But loooong ones. The sand does get harder the deeper you go, hence the long pegs.

    Re: Secondhand Bakkie advise needed

For up to 300K, you can get a decent xtra cab Hilux with less than 100K km and also around 2018 model.

For the same money you can get a 3.2 Auto Double Cab Ford Ranger.

    Re: Platkar to Softroader... Help!

I can vouch for the T31 Xtrail. I have the manual diesel. Fantastic car and very light on fuel. Have driven crappy roads a lot and not ONE rattle in the car, nor any issues with suspension bits.

Re: Towing with the new Renault duster 1,5 4x4

    Correct.

Take it from me. I towed a small "venter" trailer fully loaded recently with a 2 ton SUV and I could feel the trailer behind me under braking.

Re: Towing with the new Renault duster 1,5 4x4

I see the Dusters TARE is 1320kg which will make the towing combination illegal.

I would look at getting brakes for the trailer. That will allow you to tow legally.

Whats the TARE of the Duster?

Edit: The TARE of the Duster needs to be double that of the trailer then if it's unbraked.

What is the price supposed to be? Do we have a baseline to compare the "inflated" price to?

I guess the price you see on Toyota.co.za is the price you pay? Or do the dealers quote higher prices?
