    Re: Joining the MUX club

Am at 185 000 trouble-free km's today. (sort of - the wipers still lift off the windscreen once past 160).

Honestly, if it has been well maintained and serviced - buy and drive. There really is...

    Re: My new MU-X

In all honesty, I spend most of the testdrive confirming the extra horses under the hood.

So, no facts wrt fuel consumption from me, but I will bet my bottom dollar the new MUX will run more...

  6. Re: Buddy ordered Fortuner 2.8 VX 4x2 - was it the right choice?

The reference to the other brands :

If "buddy" HAS to take a 4x2 Fortuner because the waiting list for the 4x4 is longer than Escom's list of excuses, but in fact "buddy" will be better served...
  7. Re: Buddy ordered Fortuner 2.8 VX 4x2 - was it the right choice?

Not a preferable option but a viable option.

As is the Everest and Pajero Sport.

    All tough-as-nails bakkie-based SUV's.
  8. Re: Buddy ordered Fortuner 2.8 VX 4x2 - was it the right choice?

A vehicle is not bought until the buyer signs the release docs at the dealer. If he is on a waiting list he has not bought anything. He can bail anytime he wants and go peek at the Isuzu MUX. In 4x4.
  9. Re: Buddy ordered Fortuner 2.8 VX 4x2 - was it the right choice?

He bought it between 19h16 today and now.......?

In that case, he should settle in and get to know it. It is a good vehicle. It will not follow a proper 4x4 when the going gets tough, but it...
  10. Re: Buddy ordered Fortuner 2.8 VX 4x2 - was it the right choice?

Tell him he is going to cry his eyes out if he buys a 4x2 and he cannot do the last 5% of the trip - the fun part - because he bought a 4x2. Just a thought.

Other than that he can buy the Fortuner...

Re: My new 3.0LS Dmax DC 4x4- first impressions

My infotainment display on the MUX shows GPS speed in big & bold digits. I prefer to look at it instead of speedo. At 125 kph speedo, infotainment display at 120 kph.

Re: LC 300 Turbo issues - HELP!

In all honesty- how do you keep your composure with Toyota?

The only idea I can can add is that you should ask Toyota SA not so nicely for a new one or your money back.

    Re: Isuzu 4wd problem

Ek sou begin deur al die elektriese koppelings te trek en met Electrical Contact Cleaner te spuit.

Isuzu doen baie dinge reg maar elektriese koppelings nie altyd nie.

Re: GD6 Fortuner hanging/leaning to the left

  20. Re: The Fuel saving thread - Tips on using less fuel whilst driving

Next week when driving down to KZN I have decided I will set the cruise-control to 110 GPS speed, to see what all the fuss is about. Checking the scenery, rolling hills, rivers, trees, birdies etc. I...
  21. Re: Long distance driving, and the role that speed plays in your fatigue

  22. Re: Long distance driving, and the role that speed plays in your fatigue

In any late model platkar, SUV, Doublecab etc there really is no difference in terms of effort and concentration required - when travelling at, lets say 140 vs 110. Vehicles are so refined these days...

    Dankie Oom😃👍.

Re: Toyota quality a thing of the past?

I am not a Toyota Fanboy at all - but their longevity and toughness just cannot be argued.

Re: Fuel Consumption of your Towing Combination

Against my own rules - this will make me drink AND drive. I will not be able to handle this consumption sober. On the upside - you have a vehicle that will get you there and back everytime.

I shall just drive faster & harder. I get wherever (flat earth club meetings) quicker and consequently uses less fuel.

Feel free to try and prove me wrong....
