I have bought a Bots sim in the past but found that you are actually better off from a connectivity point of view roaming, the cost is a different matter. Roaming you can switch to the best network...

  5. Re: Road conditions between Bela-Bela and Groblersbrug border post

Distance wise there's about 20km in it but getting through Mokopane will take longer that Modimolle which at 3am will not be a difference. However, there's is an extra toll gate just before Mokopane...

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as potholes go.
  7. Re: Road conditions between Bela-Bela and Groblersbrug border post

Road condition is generally fine by SA standards but there are bridges under construction between Vaalwater and Lephalale so there will be some stop and go. At 3 - 4 am this should not be a delay...

    Re: Kgalagadi

Is Kaa gate open? It wasn't in April last year. If it is you can access the entire park from there or Mabuasehube gate if it isn't, however if you want to exit Botswana the Two River border gate is...

  16. Re: And so it begins - first private 100MW plants approved

As someone involved in these projects I can tell you that the viability of these are dependant entirely on the private party off take. The potential supply back to Eskom is zeroed off when doing the...
  17. Re: And so it begins - first private 100MW plants approved

Nope, these are projects that are private parties that are developing and funding these projects, the off takers are private parties not Eskom. The only government involvement is project approval by...
  18. Re: Water crossings in Northern Bots. Snorkel or not?

A snorkel gives a false sense of security imho, if the crossing is so deep that you can only do it with a snorkel then it's too deep. This means that you have to know the depth of the crossing which...

  20. Re: And so it begins - first private 100MW plants approved

No Eskom will not pay anything the power generated is for own consumption, just like your own solar installation at home. In the past this was limited to 1 mW and this has been raised to 100mW.

Re: Kgalagadi - Rooiputs - Subaru?
