Congrats Wayne, may you stop smiling one day :)
Are the components on these "small SUV buggies" really made of Pronutro and stuck together with marshmallows that they can't handle a yearly maybe two week trip on some rough gravel road?
It...
You must like, have a real fancy camera like hey ;D
Lovely stuff, I love it when a photographer shows they know what they are doing - and you do.
10/10.
I did that when I started, think activating the yeast I must start doing again.
The above refers and was posted on the "Fermenting Vessels" thread here.
As I have been getting varying yields from exactly the same batches of each but different containers, I am going to be...
"Having done many ferments and runs on the still in the last two months ( how many I don't know- stopped counting some time ago) I have tallied up some of the yields of the different containers and...

Could be, must try them one day also.
Having used Weber Briquettes exactly once today ( also once in the Tandoor Oven which doesn't count) I have decided they are the best ever for doing what I did today on the Weber. Finish and klaar....
Wish I had the bucks to buy one, they are scarce.
Engine wise you won't battle for spares, the same 2.6 petrol engine was in the Colt bakkie and also used in the Mazda's in South Africa....
Marais and myself enjoyed meeting you all Viertrek. It was a pleasure to show and share a tiny sliver of our valley with yourselves..
En sweet. Moenie vergeet van sweet nie :)
I guess I should post this here. The Triton, now on 323 thousand km, decided the bolt which holds the adjustment for the alternator needed to break which I picked up only when it started swinging in...
Unbiased opinion would be to buy a Fortuner, spares and dealerships are everywhere and when she sells it she will get double the price she paid.
Biased opinion would be to buy the new Jimny, if...
Pick and Pay Housebrand charcoal has predominantly big heavy lumps which might be of use to you. Very similar to the "Suidwes" (I think?) brand who are probably the ones packing it for them.
I'm buggered then, the bottom vents in mine have rusted t'murngone and remain open.
Is the reason for briquettes in the Weber not for the constant and more even/ longer release of heat due to the...
Tried the Weber ones yesterday, a highly unscientific observation was that they are flatter and a bit wider than the stuff I normally use ( which isn't often) and that they seems to burn longer/ hold...
As jy 'n baie stadige drinker is ja :)
Friends of mine visited the camp last weekend, they had a great time and said they will go back. Everything was functional and clean.
Loooooong ago, Mkhuze Game Reserve.
Ai shem:)
The Blonde.
Parts of the old whaling station on the Bluff in Durban have walls where the wind has eroded the clay bricks, leaving a honeycomb.
I'll get some of the Weber stuff today to try but in the Tandoor oven. I have a scheme for tomorrow:)
How awesome, thank you for sharing the thought process Brak. Enjoy the new ride!
Thanks Hermie. I have used the Triquettes on and off, they work quite well in the Cobb also, by the way.
Feeling a tad under the weather Peter? You didn't state that your 2by Hilux is the best there is and that the OP should buy one. For the resale value of course as you permanently remind us :)

Please post the results from the testing, preferably including seriously involved spreadsheets with temperature measurements for every 3.17 minutes. And pitchas, plenty pitchas. Please :)

A splendid evening with Julius joining for a beer and Revasen also unexpectedly joining and sharing my and Marais's company for another few beers. Good times shared with awesome people can't be...
Last bump.
Looking forward to meeting you Julius.
It might be an option yes.
Your findings will be interesting, please share when you do try them.
The 2.8tdi was discontinued in 2006 I think, from 07 it was the Triton.
Not wanting to be negative but the 2.8 wasn't Mitsu's finest hour of engines as they love eating cylinder heads. But others...
Been there done that also. Even lined up a good friend in CT to have a first look and be the eyes for the testing and touchy feely stuff once a prototype emerged. Which also came to nothing.
So,...
And is posted on our forum and will get argued over for pages and pages because they didn't factor in xyz. Which in itself is a pointless exercise :)
What I really fancy about the Bedourie ( apart from the light weight) is the deep lid which doubles as a frying pan and has its own handles.
This doubles the usefulness from what I can see.
