What is the Jimny like at highway speeds, cruising at 120km/h?
  2. Re: Terrible experience at Nissan Menlyn dealership

Wtf, the op probably doesn't have R200k spare to make a bonfire with, he's just relating the facts of the experience they had.

What Nissan dealer do you work at?

  4. Discovery 3 Re: Adding Dr Tranny to new torque converter with 2nd hand gearbox!

That's really not bad, considering Zf is doing the work and it comes with a warranty.

Re: 12V LED lights on existing 220V wires?

6-8 5w led lights per small room?!!

A 5w led is the equivalent of a 60W incandescent or 450lumen, not many rooms require almost 500W equivalent or 3600 lumen of illumination.

  10. Re: OEM VW cambelt kit vs Goldwagen or Masterparts

    Honda's have them.
  11. Re: Wits engineers have built an affordable off the grid system

From what I have heard 12v systems dont handle high watt inverters very well due to the high draw on the 12v side, just 500W is going to be pulling 42A.

    Re: Terios LWB Front Shocks

Maybe try the Kyb importers as they are the OE shocks on many Japanese vehicle's.
  13. Re: OEM VW cambelt kit vs Goldwagen or Masterparts

Probably because the timing belt typically runs on the water pump so it is loaded by the belt and would experience wear at a similar rate, relatively speaking. Also doing a timing belt you are...
  14. Re: Wits engineers have built an affordable off the grid system

But being a 12v system the inverter feasibly won't be able to run more than a few hundred watts at max?

    Re: Renault Duster Problems

If the brake pads are badly worn and the clutch is also nearing the end the combined hydraulic reservoir would take a pretty big hit in terms of fluid loss into the system to compensate for the wear.
  16. Re: What solar MPPT to charge a Li-ion battery?

That sounds interesting, it would probably have some built-in loss though so being able to natively charge the pack via the mppt would be the optimal method.

Do you perhaps have a link to one of...

  18. Re: What solar MPPT to charge a Li-ion battery?

Reading up on the Victron website they seem to only support recognised Li-ion battery packs, I'll be making a custom pack out of 18650 cells and would like a mppt where I can customise the charge...

  22. What solar MPPT to charge a Li-ion battery?

Most solar inverters with MPPT's seem designed to charge lead acid/gel type batteries, what MPPT has charge profiles for a Li-ion battery?

I'm looking for a solar inverter with MPPT that can do...
