    The challenge here is that the battery will be installed inside a caravan typically under a bed.
    The gassing during charging and discharging could be an issue.

    Just familiarise yourself with the specific charging requirements for Gel batteries.

    They have lower cell voltages than AGM batteries

    Those work fine. Keep it on float charge .
    That's the whole idea behind float charge . Keeps a constant 13.5 V

    That will keep the battery full without boiling out all the electrolyte
