    Re: Inverter and charger combination

Brezza, read through these threads and make a decision.

Depending on the application you require it for, it may very well last you a lifetime.

    Re: Inverter and charger combination

    2500 meaning Watts?

Not even modified sine wave inverters are as cheap as R1/watt.

It sounds like rubbish in my honest opinion.

    Pictures? A link maybe?

  8. Re: Radio equipment iIdentification required.

Ok yes, I have a fair idea how repeaters work and this makes some sense.

But what about ham repeaters where the offset is 0.600. This according to me is still very close to each other, yet I have...
  9. Re: Radio equipment iIdentification required.

Thanks Fluffy, but still way over my head. ;D

In practical terms, why would one need it on a farm (or a private game reserve in this case)?
  10. Radio equipment iIdentification required.

    Hi radio hams,

I came across this thing the other day and was hoping someone could help me id it?

It looks like some sort of RF filter / duplexer type thing.

    What is its purpose?

    Fluffy...

Re: CTek D to DC charger

Agree with this. There are too many other possible scenarios as to why they struggled with that setup.

One has to know the exact circumstances applicable to each case to make a correct diagnosis,...

Re: CTek D to DC charger

I would think in this case, the PSU would basically be your alternator. It can only deliver a max of 8 amps and that's it.

The dc to dc charger in turn can deliver a maximum of 20 amps when the...

Re: CTek D to DC charger

For your current discussion it is not really of great concern, I'm just pointing out that the highlighted part is not correct at all.

The Ctek actually does exactly this and I have witnessed it...

Re: Can tyres make SUCH a big difference

Don't think its that simple. A lot of it has to do with throttle position. It doesn't matter how great a particular vehicle's torque is at highway speeds, all the other factors already mentioned will...

    Re: Freezer problems

This is the only thing I can think of. Especially because it happened to 2 fridges simultaneously.

If the air vent areas was blocked, then there is no way in hell those fridges would cope with the...

Re: Ammo box, it is a good option

Hinges would be a significant (if perhaps the only improvement) that could still be done to these boxes!

Love them to bits. I own 10 in total and cannot imagine my life without them.

    Re: Freezer problems

At first a thought that this may be a charging problem (but you said this happened on AC too) but it appears to be fridge related now.

    But both fridges?

Are you sure they had enough ventilation...
  22. Re: Chernobyl - a wildlife haven. Would you go?

Thanks for this. I read everything and thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a few things about radio active material and radiation as well!

    Re: Charging AA, AAA batteries.

    Agree with absolutely everything here.
  32. Re: Re-using filler and drain plug gaskets

I must say I am very aware on the over tightening stuff even though I don't even own a torque wrench.

Maybe I just have a natural feeling for when something is tight enough, maybe I got lucky.

  34. Re: Re-using filler and drain plug gaskets

I've been using the old washers for a 2nd time for years, on all my vehicles.

Never ever had a problem and have never lost a drop of oil.
