brown R4, old webbing: I reckon 1982, MAYBE 1983 intake. The new pattern webbing was released in 1983. The brown R4s were released mid-1982.

    I'd say a 4.0 out of a D2.
  9. Re: TDSA Boksburg Ex SANDF Browns Clothing Clearance Sale!

All the old SADF browns were locally manufactured. If the label says otherwise, then they are cheap chinese clones done post 1994.

The old Nutria Browns were even IR treated as far as I know.

Re: getting started on grid tied

I want to start off with PV providing some power during sunlight, and ESKOM taking up the slack in the day and at night, so no batteries to start off.
I'll add PV panels until I get enough Vlots...

I had one for many years. I think I used it once and a proper trolley jack would have worked better.

Discovery 3 Re: What vehicle after a Landrover

Pick the brand with the most dealer presence in your area. In your case, Toyota.

Doing a 1000km round trip for a service isn't intelligent.

Re: Chances of Malaria in Etosha

ja my point is that they don't need a lot of water

Even the SADF considered Etosha/Oshivelo to be a malaria area.

PS: I see the army base hasn't changed much.

Thanks for the thread. The RAV4 Gen1 set the standard for AWD softroaders IMHO. Land Rover's FL1 was supposed to compete but in comparison, was a dismal failure.

Re: getting started on grid tied

Well, it seems like a decent unit. Why would it need to be interactive? For feeding back into the grid? I assume in ZA we can't do that yet anyway? (not trying to be argumentative, I'm just stupid)

    You're screwed.

The criminals know that there is a window of opportunity in these cases and they know which vehicles are good targets.

    Re: TJ steering

    My experience is :

Those weld-in bungs and screw-in TREs are only available from the USA. Bfreesani and I were looking at finding those a while back, and nobody makes them here.
