Re: Gearing up on a budget.

I have the same ones. Agree woth you 100%. They perform well especially on wet roads, but I dont have the offroad confidence with them as with Cooper or BF. Maybe its because I am used to very...
  2. Re: 75A breaker for Mecer Inverter - is it necessary?

I dont have one installed. Batteries connected to inverter without a breaker. Use thick cables so that they dont get warm when drawing lots of current. Inverter has protection built in, its actually...

Re: Gearing up on a budget.

Re: Gearing up on a budget.

Looking at installing a 30amp Victron DC-DC charger. This should keep the batteries full.

Corner jack points is a bit difficult on modern plastic vehicles. Will have to go for the strap that...
  5. Re: Replacing car battery with gate motor batteries

Re: Gearing up on a budget.

Agreed. The idea is to carry ice, not make ice. Got the t-shirt for that, I failed miserably in the past trying to make ice in a camping freezer.

    Re: How I broke it:

I also learned the hard way about 1st low going uphill. Snapped a sideshaft on a defender when pulling off against a hill.

Just did a search on him. Not very popular S..T stirrer who drives a peugeot 404 and tells you to buy a real 4x4. Why would you need a duplicate account otherwise? Turns out some cant even be nice...

Re: Gearing up on a budget.

Also, is a seed net required for Mabua in Jan? As much as I know how important they can be, I hate them as they seriously reduce airflow to the radiator.

Thanks for the help so far, some questions...

We are still holding thumbs that we will be able to cross into Botswana.

    Anyway, here lies the...
