    A panels voltage is pretty much stable with varying light intensity, it's the current delivery that varies.

    A 18V panel that is delivering 12V due to available light is not going to produce any...

    The thing with heat pumps is their installation. They tend to mix cold and hot water when you draw off hot water. ITS have a patented control valve to stop that.

    All of a sudden that simple shaft connected to an alternator becomes a shaft alternator gearbox combination.

    So it can be done, but it's not simple and it's not cheap or maintenance...

    The problem is the RPM's. You cant drive the alternator directly off the turbine shaft. Even if modified for permanent magnet.

    Somehow you have to get the alternator into the several thousand RPM...
