    Re: Badger semi-flex panels

    Naw, it’s just you.

I would have asked to keep the faulty one, honestly, what are they going to do with it.

    Re: Caravan Electrical Laws

I drove past "that building" in Pretoria a few days ago. Spent cold shivers up my spine.

The days before internet. Take cash with you and go and order your spec.

    Re: Badger semi-flex panels

I suspect that the protective layer is now about 3000 little protective layer pieces now, each of which would need to be removed with a tweezer.

Looks like the protective layer cracked and fell...

Re: Ridiculous maintenance cost of Freelander II

    You’re overthinking this.

You can’t simply compare a FL2 shock with a Ranger shock and extrapolate that out to total car ownership.

    Re: solar panel to sell

    Not quite a fair assessment.

They just plain are more expensive to produce. More solid solar panels are probably manufactured in 60S worldwide, than the total production of flex or semi-flexible...

    Re: Lowering EGT’s

What are you actually trying to achieve, and why. (yes I know 10%, but that’s just a random number)

My earlier response of “throttle” was not in jest.

This has long been a major concern of mine and why I am VERY VERY anti 220V AC inverters attached tp batteries in caravans, trailers and overlanding vehicles.

The inverter lands up "Floating" and...

Re: Solar Charge Controller for Boat

    Victron's roots are in boating.

A lot of their technical data is still in nautical terms, and some of the horrible boating conventions carried over to the land.

    Re: solar panel to sell

Stick with what you got and fine tune the mechanics of how you deploy and store them.

Depending on what you are doing and how they are wired you may get away with only deploying 2 of the panels at...

Re: Veiwing a car in Durban

It might help to mention what car.

Pointless to ask me to check out a Fortuner or a Patrol.

If on the other hand it is a Range Rover P38 or RRS then I am your man.

You posted while I was typing.

R6.50/watt is only on larger 72 cell 300 Watt class panels in bulk, not little 50W camping toys..

However, having said that, a 30 second google reveals a whole bunch of dealers selling 50W panels...

    Re: Solar Experts please help

DO NOT just add that extra panel, either in series or parallel. Series will result in overvoltage and parallel will result in over current.

Even with the correct (expensive) tool it is a hit and miss affair.

    Re: Range Rover 3.9L 1990

    Hi,

The Viscous lock I am talking about is in the "transfer case / centre diff"

Your 1981 probably has similar, if not identical diffs to the 1990 in this thread.

Actually one of the more important fuel related aspects, at least to me, is range. Nothing more disturbing than continually have to plan around fuel stops and carry fuel in cans.
