Re: Ritar AGM batteries - Chinese junk or not?

Refer to the manufacturer's specs when in doubt.
The RA 12-100 series are all of the AGM VRLA type.

    Re: No of Solar Panels

    Re: No of Solar Panels

    Sticky: Re: Electrickery for camping

Something funny there. I have had my AGM battery for over 3 years now.

    Re: Ctek Chargers

    Cheaper is relative.

To charge at 8A you will need a panel of around 150W, and that will cost quite a bit more than the Midas charger at R1200.

The Ctek chargers are good, no mistake there.

Another charger to consider is the (PSA008 or PSD008 ) 12V, 8A smart chargers you get from Midas Stores. A good buy with many happy 4x4Forum members...

    As Tolbos said.
    Your unit has a problem.

The float voltage for the WRND is 13,7V.
In the case you mention it needs no "kicking in voltage", as it would charge and attempt to maintain a battery...

It is also important to monitor the voltage of the battery under charge.

As per DC Polokwane & Fluffy.
