  5. Re: What power supply for Snowmaster 21l travel buddy ?

    Thanks. That makes sense then.

I'm not familiar with the unit and googled.

The first result I got was this one:...
  6. Re: What power supply for Snowmaster 21l travel buddy ?

I'm not sure how you want to use it. Can you elaborate why you want a DC power supply for the thing ?

My understanding is that the 21L SnoMaster travel buddy is 12V DC and 220V AC. In which case,...
  7. Re: Do you pre- route or program your GPs for trips?

Sorry - yes. I do this also. I will download the maps on my phone prior to any trips (there is not data reception in all areas of the Richtersveld etc) and use that to double check things when I am...
  8. Re: Do you pre- route or program your GPs for trips?

Andrew - yes. When I arrive at Waypoint 1, I navigate to way point 2. This allows me to get an "exact" idea of when I will arrive at specific key stops.

Strangely enough, as to your second...
  9. Re: Do you pre- route or program your GPs for trips?

I do not pre-route. I only plot waypoints and points of interest. I find it works the best. I do generate routes from the waypoints in BaseCamp to give me a broad idea of actual distances and...

Yes, I hear you. But 5 minutes is still 5 minutes... I could drink my first beer in that time. ;D;D

Re: Levelling a car with a RTT

I'm probably a philistine, but I don't bother much. I find a place that is reasonably level, open up and go. Spending two hours getting the vehicle perfectly level sort of defeats the point of a...

Yes - as Andrew has indicated, life has got in the way... Apologies - I meant to post here once I got the news, but I was not near my laptop, and did not feel like typing the response on my phone.

  14. Re: The 2021 Official 4x4 Community Klein Pella Exploration Trip (Northern Cape)

I believe some people are battling with BaseCamp. The list below outlines Andrew's way points for the routes. I've followed his naming convention for the way points.

    Re: Snomaster

I don't really reckon you need to test it.

    Amps = Watts / Volts.

    66 Watt compressor: 66W / 12V = 5.5A
    71 Watt compressor: 71W / 12V = 5.9A

Difference is 0.4A. That would be 4 Ah over 10...

  19. Re: Is a Nissan Patrol better than a Toyota Landcruiser?

Personally, I think a turbo installation on a 1HZ is a reliability downgrade. It is not an engine known to like being turboed.

  31. Re: Will T4A SD Card work in Toyota Infotainment setup?

    Dirk,

I have an T4A SD card you can test with, if you like.

However, I think it probably wont work with the standard Toyota head unit.

One gets Caska head units, and there is a specific T4A...
