    Something doesn't compute, but then don't know the cable. Normally if the two end pieces are ok a complete cable can be made.

    I'll revert to the mechanic and the cable places

    Remove the cable and take to a cable repair place...they replace the inner part in your sleeve and away you go

    Must say heavy on spark plugs and fouled spark plugs don't quite go together.

    Clean a fouled one and many more mileage out if it:)

    And Fluffy makes sense with the genny option. I run genny for a while to top up...

    Maybe before the prevalence of MPPT's and larger panels, panels were wired for 24V (series) and 12v/24V PWM controllers were the vogue.

    Old learning is not easily unlearnt:-X
