  2. Re: Toyota dealerships not using service advisors

Most service advisors are cluless, my local dealership has an ex mechanic/master tech as the service manager, no BS and I am always kept in the loop!!

    Re: Tiger Fishing tackle

R3k will get you a bit more than this but no need to overspend unless you plan on using it often, I would spend about 2k on the rod and reel and the rest on decent 20lb braid and terminal tackle.

    Re: Tankwa roads eating tyres

Debatable, I've heard a few guys say that you rather over inflate, when I went I dropped to 1.8, stayed at 60 and still lost a tyre..no corrugations to speak of.

  7. Re: What are the 3 most reliable bakkie engines that will last the longest

By most accounts (or lack thereof) the two GD6 mills should follow on from the D4D........Nissan 1400 that I had jonks ago stood up to all sorts of youthful abuse...and then some!!;D

Re: KZN - Where to see some snow?

I did it on Sunday and for the most part it's good as its recently been graded in places, there are some crappy sections but two hours is stretching it, an hour for the dirt section imo......no use...

Re: KZN - Where to see some snow?

I would start at Notties and take the Lotheni road to Himeville, very scenic 100kms, 60 of it is a decent dirt road but very scenic and a good chance of snow imo, I've been in snow there twice.:)

  19. Re: HILUX , 2017 - 2.7 VVTI or 2017 - 2.4 GD6

I've owned a 2.7 VVTI, as far a 4 cylinder petrol motors go it's imo the best available, brilliant motor but I would never take it above the 2.4GD6..........just on consumption alone you will use 3+...

    Re: Land Cruiser 300 - 3.3L V6 diesel

I think he meant after but from what I have heard there are many used car places that are clamoring to get things like the 300 and the Yaris to flip for R200k+ profit!!

Re: Nissan Triton or Mitsubishi Navara?

So would you be happy to buy a Triton which is actually a rebadged Navara, no Superselect, with coils and a Renault engine?
IMO the only thing that the Navara brings to the party is the looks and to...

    Re: The "New" Navara...

Answered this myself - had a look at a new Navara this morning and the chassis is indeed strengthened with an extra welded gusset in the weak spot(just like the previous ones built in the UK)

  31. Re: Second Engine Replacement Required for Ford Ranger less than 3 years?

I think you are both misunderstanding my point, in Fords defence, the forum has a lot of bad publicity here (especially pertaining to Rangers) so IMO a poll here will not reflect the general buying...
  32. Re: Second Engine Replacement Required for Ford Ranger less than 3 years?

I disagree, it won't be accurate(reflecting the general public opinion) as there is too much Ford negative info here on the forum.

Re: Upgrading from Duster, but to what?

Thanks, I used 'appreciating asset' a bit flippantly but was just referring to the fact that I made R50k in three years when I sold recently, our cpi/inflation/rand value negates this in real terms...
