Re: TD5 130 P/Up Tank on Support Bars

Chas what are the support bars and why would they be a danger to your tank ?
I have obviously missed the post that you are referring to.

Re: Isuzu 280 kb rear main seal replacement

    +1 on using the original.
You need to get this right the first time.
The pipe thing may work but all I know is that the job had to be done twice on my old girl because the right tool had not been...
  4. Re: Fuel consumption, speedo reading low vs high profile tyers?

True. I didn't even think of THIS !
  5. Fuel consumption, speedo reading low vs high profile tyers?

Can't see if this has been discussed before.

When changing profiles on your vehicle this surely affects the circumference of the tyre if fitted on the same rim?
So I would think that your speedo...

Re: Isuzu 280 kb rear main seal replacement

As far as I am aware you definitely need a special tool to do this otherwise it will keep on failing.
Beg, borrow or find a shop with one and let them do it
    Otherwise you will have recurring...

    Re: Ithala Doornkraal Campsite

We are intending to go there (To Ithala GR, not the campsite) for a few days in early June however I fear that the "Third Wave" restrictions (pending) may get in our way.
    Hopefully not.
  8. Re: How long does a dual battery system really last?

Real life experience from a few years back:

We did a just over 3 month camping trip through Southern Africa, mostly without grid power supply.
When it was available it was only overnight most...

Re: Castrol GTX CI-4 Diesel oil any good?

With a diesel motor just make sure that it can handle the high compression etc.
And, yes, it does turn black very quickly.
In spite of all vehicle manual etc. advice I change the oil every 8 000...
  11. Re: Starting my Cruiser HZJ75 after 15 months standing still!

Somewhat similar problem with my old girl (The Isuzu!!!!!).
I have been advised that the diesel goes "off" over time and can turn into a jell rather than a liquid due to some kind of fungus or algae...

    Re: Cordless Drill (which one)

I use Ryobi for DIY. 18V is much better than the 12V.
    Stronger and battery is better.
My previous 12V kept on giving battery problems.

My old Suuz was fitted with a Remtec rebuild by this forum a few years back - absolutely no problems so far apart from a minor oil leak which was dealt with under their warranty (which at that time...
  14. Re: Is it possible to buy a usable 4x4 with a R40k budget?

    I fully agree with Ettiene:
    QUOTE
If one buys for R45K cash instead of (hypothetically) R450K on HP, you can then take the installment you would have paid monthly for 3,4,5,6, whatever years and...
  15. Re: Is it possible to buy a usable 4x4 with a R40k budget?

    @ Ryno:
From the pics it would seem that you got a good deal there.
For its age it seems to have been reasonably well cared for.
    Mechanically, who knows?
But if an owner looks after the general...
  16. Re: Richtersveld campsites and drinking water

River water is OK for showering etc., not so sure about drinking it though...

    Re: D4D DC 4x4 - Market Value?

    Eish !

My problem is that I am being pushed (Not financially) to sell my vehicles.

From experience so far - Responders to adverts seem to think that we are all desperate to sell.
    Not true....

    Re: National Luna temp variation

My guess - more of a capacity problem.

  21. Isuzu Re: One Million Seven hundred Thousand KM - Anything out there that tops this Isuzu?

  22. Isuzu Re: One Million Seven hundred Thousand KM - Anything out there that tops this Isuzu?

Seems then that I am idiot for even considering selling mine at ONLY 486 000 odd Km after the re-build engine then. :o
Surely must be at least one rebuild along the way somewhere, maybe a...
