    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

Sorry - you did ask before.

I can't think of any differences. I haven't heard of anyone having any trouble with nor needing to service the 4WD's Power Transfer Unit, ring gear, pinion, rear drive...

    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

My apologies - I have just looked at the original brochure. The 2wd is actually lower at 205mm.

    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

Yeah, I kinda fell in love with the looks. Broad shoulders, narrow waist ;D

It is comfortable (some say soft), high off the ground, the diesel gets great economy and all at a good price point.

    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

I could say something about spring sag due to extra weight over time :), but I'll be nice and just say that some of the shockers lasted longer.

    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

No, they both have 210mm of ground clearance, but that's Freelander range. You can get about 50mm more with different springs and shockers which will then beat most anything available.

    Re: Buying a Renault Duster.

I do go off-road, but rarely find that I need to engage 4wd lock-up. The AWD mode, like on the X-trail, works a treat. So, the 2wd might be sufficient, but I enjoy knowing the 4WD mode is available...

    Re: Renault Duster Problems

I think it's more than just the plastics.

From the back, I numbered the connectors from top left, 1 to 5 for the top row and 6 to 10 for the bottom row, the 4 to 7 test shows continuity in the...

    Re: Renault Duster Problems

Has anyone else had any problems with their driver's window control? Mine will roll down, but not up.
  9. Re: 4x4 race. What's with all the black smoke?

I'm just going to say the above differently.

Forgetting air (oxygen) for the moment, a certain amount of fuel will give you a steady state (rpms at load). To accelerate, you must add more fuel.

Can you display a pic of the diesel light? The only one I have indicates a low amount of fuel remaining. Perhaps you mean the engine light. There are two with the picture of an engine. The one...

Some have said that the high pitch noise we hear in our engine bay is not the high pressure fuel pump, but actually the opening and closing of our fuel pressure regulator on our common rail. The ECU...

That's a good price for EBC Ultimax. Where did you get them from?

Do you think the different part numbers (2023 vs 2146) could be due to our different generations?

Re: duster 2015 4x4 tyres and shocks

Gen 1 for us was from 2013 to late 2015 when they switched from the chrome to black "Duster" on the boot, etc. So, all Gen1 had the same spec. Actually, I haven't heard that any of the underpinnings...

Sorry to see you leave the Duster fold Pitter.

Mazda is extremely under valued here. There should be more on our roads.

I agree with the Duster gearing, but I would spread both ends. At the...

Re: duster 2015 4x4 tyres and shocks

The Duster shockers are under-spec'd. Thus, the comfortable ride, but you do get SUV (high centre of gravity) swaying when lane changing at speed with dives on hard braking and squats on hard...

  25. Re: Renault duster 2014 does not start - help needed

  29. Re: Renault duster 2014 does not start - help needed

Dirty engine oil is often the culprit. Excess heat can coke then choke the oil supply line to the turbo, but this engine runs very cool and running at idle after a high turbo run doesn't seem to be...

On the Indian site, a Duster has done over 175kms.

Gen 1 was from 2013 to mid-2015. From late 2015 the Gen 2 was introduced.

Gen 1 was Euro4 emissions standard and Gen 2 was Euro 5.
