Re: Suzuki grand vitara 2.4 2010 clutch

The GV clutch is prone to burning and shudder. I'm on 155k km and my clutch is starting to shudder. Been looking around for a kit, and is only available from agents. R9.5k for kit, without fitment.
  2. Re: Jimny damage on roof where the roof rack fits on to the roof

Thats not really correct. The manufacturer takes handling and braking performance into consideration. Just because you have a FR rack doesn't mean you can load it like you want. But it up to you...
  3. Re: Jimny damage on roof where the roof rack fits on to the roof

Are you crazy? Max load on jimny roof is 35kg? Not surprised it broke, thats too much even for a land cruiser.

Re: Suzuki GV Summit Towing cabability

Dont do it. Max tow capacity of gv is 1500kg iirc. You need more for two berth box. Gv has very little torque compared to diesel bakkies

Looks like a fantastic trip! Erich just on the tyres - your post says 205/80 r16. Why did you decide to go narrower? How does gv brake and handle with these tyres?

Re: Anyone here bought a new JL yet?

The problem is at this price, you can buy so many other top of the range models. Thinking swb pajero, new prado or v6 amarok depending on type of vehicle. Id like one but this makes no sense

Re: A Question for the V9X Manne.

The idler pulleys themselves get worn and can damage belt. Not just a case of bearings and you might not hear them in time. Some go quickly.

Im not familiar with v9x but idler pulleys in general...

No man. You will pay vat and duty on every import of car parts. I've imported about 8 shipments from rockauto. FedEx sends invoice, you pay, done.

Re: GV Parts Prices - Brakes & Wipers - insane?

    For safeline:

    Fronts are: D3346 or D3843
    Rear: D3420

Brake squeek can also be caused by worn caliper pins and hardware. For this you'll have to order at agents or rockauto.com

I also had ferodos but they squeeked like crazy. Moved over to safeline pads. No issues, much happier. Can get at Midas or naskar.

No it's dead simple. All you need is a proper ratchet handle and no 14 socket.

There is also schematic in owners manual to help with the belt routing and identifying tensioner.

    You place...
