    The motor does not die immediately, splutters for a few secs and then dies. Also after leaving it for half an hour or so it starts but then splutters for a few secs and dies again.

    My frustration with my local boat shop is that I am the one asking them to check various components to try and solve the problem. According to them compression is good, cdi unit is fine, stator good....
