    Re: 1st Beer

Well done, there's no better satisfaction than making and drinking your own beer. The only downside is you become a professional washer, wash, wash, wash, wash, and then sanitise, sanitise...

Use vice-grip pliers and push them in around the rubber seal, grab hold of the centre steel pin and turn anti-clockwise, it should fall in.

  3. Re: Where do you post campsite reviews.

CaravanParks.com is a good place to start - they also have an annual booklet with resorts and their respective ratings.

    Re: Why we fish

Those are really nice largies. We caught plenty on the stretch below Bloemhof dam all the way to Christiana, but none of that size. Rapala countdown in the rapids was a deadly bait for them.

I think 'why we fish' have been described enough in this post.

Fortuner Re: Toyota Fortuner buying guide?

    LukeHawk,

If you have LOTS of money for petrol, then don't buy the V6! ;D

I have a Prado V6 and let me tell you, a huge part my holiday budget goes into fuel. We are going down to Struisbaai in...
  13. Re: Summer rains, is this unusual or just a reset.

Looks pretty normal, albeit only up to 2017. The trends are pretty normal if you ask me.

If you want further details, go read this document, it breaks down historical rainfall per Province.

  14. Re: Choosing an ideal Tentco configuration

True, that's why I opted for the standalone option in my first post. The dome tents are 10 minutes each and the dining shelter should also take about the same time.
  15. Re: Choosing an ideal Tentco configuration

Option 1 is perfect for you then, just check campsites for overall length, it is a big setup.
  16. Re: Choosing an ideal Tentco configuration

Nope not really, the Dining shelter and the tents are stand alone.

I suppose it all depends on how you want to camp. I for one do not like the idea of getting out of my tent into my kitchen area...
  17. Re: Choosing an ideal Tentco configuration

Why not opt for 2 3x3m dome tents, and a dining room shelter?
  18. Re: National Luna 90 Liter Twin Cooling issues

Danie, that should not be the performance you would expect from the NL.

  21. Re: Getting GPS location for a route marker board

    Tony,

Seems like you are in tight spot, the marker they listed on the fine is obviously incorrect. For you to dispute the fine would be very difficult, you would probably have to pay up and write...

  23. Re: Everything keeps going right, or does it?

Hmmm, I doubt that 10% of the members on this forum would be able to fix a broken down vehicle in the bush, with exception of Grips and Reenen..;D
  24. Re: Everything keeps going right, or does it?

Gert, years ago I used to fly-fish ( a lot!) and when we discussed amongst ourselves which is the best fly to use, it always had the same answer: "the one you have most confidence in".
