    Re: Who did shock spacers

If they are "lifted together", this means the front has McPherson struts. Is this the case?

So it is neither a shock spacer nor a coil spacer, but a strut spacer.

    The wheels are simply pushed...

Re: Can I Fix This Tyre?

    Just help me out here.

I was under the impression that a burst tyre - or blow-out - harks back to the era of cross ply tyres with tubes in them.

It is the tube which bursts, resulting in...

    Re: Volvo XC60: Review

    Even bigger than I thought

In Post #11 I waxed lyrical about the more space in the XC60 than the LR2. Sorry.

Recently I've had reason to test the limits.

I've become used to buying lengths...

Re: Steel bash plate vs aluminium bash plate

Yes, preferably, enthusiastically should not be part of the equation.

But sometimes - in my case anyway - the protection is to keep the plastics intact and keep parts attached to the car. They...

Re: Steel bash plate vs aluminium bash plate

Wynand, the best way to understand which is better or most suitable for the application, is to see and physically feel the stiffness of the material.

But not only the sheet, the folded product, as...

Re: Steel bash plate vs aluminium bash plate

The density of Al is roughly one third of steel.

The strength of Al depends on the grade which is identified by the series, from 1000, 2000, etc to 5000 and 6000. There are higher grades, but not...

    Re: July Brekkie Run V2.0

This one is sold by Ironman for R400.

    582248

The bolts are metric fine, probably M10 or M12.

On the previous image, the grade is 8.8, which I doubt are the supplied bolts.

    The little...

    Re: July Brekkie Run V2.0

    I'm curious.

What is the conrod made of? Steel or Al? We're not talking F1 engines, but production.

    Is it machined or forged?

When it bends, is it visibly bent?

    Could one not determine...

It was basically a riverine Continental Shelf.

Have a look at the depth relative to the distance away from the edge.

And then only very slightly further.

    I am shattered.

Since I bought it in 2010, getting 18" AT tyres for my Freelander 2 was virtually impossible. So I never did. 17" was standard on bakkies then, also the Prado, and you were spoilt...

The Skoda Yeti also rides on the 1st Gen VW Tiguan drive train, which again, is based on the VW Golf of that time.

Yes, the XC60 is the Freelander 3.

Yes, but Gen 5 Haldex as opposed to Gen 3, depending on model year. 2014 onwards recommended. But...
